What Hides In Rain

We’re officially making WHIR into a video game! The story structure will be reminiscent of modern choice-based games like Life is Strange and Detroit: Become Human, but the concrete gameplay mechanics will be more along the lines of games like Dishonored.

There will be no quick time events in my good christian household.

I will be adding a section to the About tab on the blog going more in-depth on the gameplay mechanics and structure, but the basics are as such:

-The game has multiple endings, and the endings are dependent on many different variables. The difficulty settings not only affect combat and investigation, but also how aware the player will be of changes to these variables.

-The “true ending” is dependent on not only getting the best ending through the gameplay variables, but also the collectable Tarot Cards throughout the game that coincide with certain events and characters.

-The game will be played through multiple POVs, but mainly Demarcus and Mortimer’s POVs. The gameplay style depends on the POV being played. For example, Demarcus is mainly investigative while Mortimer is stealth-based.
