For nearly five years, Oregon State University has been home to OREGON STATE ADVANCE, a project of the National Science Foundationâs Institutional Transformation (IT) grant. The project brings together an interdisciplinary group of principal investigators, who have used a systems of oppression framework to nudge OSU toward greater inclusion, equity, and social justice, especially for faculty women in STEM disciplines. The centerpiece of the program is a two-week summer seminar for senior leadership.

Study Title: âGetting Emotional: Affective Whiteness in Feminist Anti-Racist Social Justice Movementsâ
The Principal Investigator for this research is Dr. Patti Duncan.
This study seeks to understand how emotions affect the work of feminist anti-racist social justice activists.
Participants will be asked to take part in an interview that will last 60-90 minutes, approximately. These interviews will be conducted by Rebecca Lambert and will be audio recorded.
Additional Information: The primary object of this research is to understand the role of emotions in movements for feminist anti-racist social justice organizing. I seek to understand what processes lead to white womenâs active engagement with race, racism, and racial justice, as central to feminist activism that is truly intersectional.
Did you attend a Womenâs March event in Oregon or South Carolina?
Are you willing to talk about your experiences engaging in activism, especially at a womenâs march event? If you are at least 18, and have attended a womenâs march in Oregon or South Carolina, please contact Rebecca Lambert at [email protected].
