Not quite the oldest, not quite the youngest, Weston falls in just a year younger than his brother @rhcttmcdaniel and five years older than @hadley-mcdaniel
Growing up just under the shadow of Rhett, he often felt like he was left to his own devices and not given a ton of attention. Merely looked over more often than not.
Weston, or Wes as he usually prefers grew up a bit of a trouble maker. He smoked cigarettes in high school and absolutely was drinking before he was twenty-one years old. Catch him wearing leather jackets and going over the speed limit without a care in the world and usually someone girl in the front seat next to him.
This didnât meant he wasnât family oriented, if he was close with anyone, it was Hadley. And for the fact that she was the youngest and growing up with a few older brothers, they were incredibly over protective of her. Probably much to her dismay at the end of the day.
Weston also took part in a variety of sports, usually football because it could often end up being relatively violent and in the winters? Weston played hockey, usually getting benched at least once a game.
Around the time he turned twenty-one, Weston met Juliette. And man oh man was the young boy smitten with the woman almost immediately. She gave him a run for his money. Juliette was one of the few women not to be swayed by the bad boy in him and at this time, he was beginning to see why. Thatâs not who he wanted to be. Not for her.
Give or take a few years, they were married and Weston was a turned around man. He gave up most of his smoking, except for the occasional cigarette while he was drinking. For their honeymoon, the two of them went to Paris and it became a staple in their life. They fell in love with the city of love, wanting to make time to go back again.
And by the time he was twenty-six, Juliette had given birth to a son. The two of them named him Justin and he was the spitting image of Juliette since the day he was born. There was no shortage of being spoiled in the McDaniel family either for this young lad.
When Justin was only a year old, the two of them entrusted him with the care of his family and escaped off to Paris once more. And it would be Westonâs last time in the city of love. Julietteâs too. During their mini vacation in the romantic city, Juliette became pregnant once more. They were overjoyed with the news, ready to give Justin a sibling.
However, six months into her pregnancy, a car crash took Julietteâs life. Someone ran a stop sign on the edge of town, speeding over the speed limit just enough to t-bone her vehicle. Neither Juliette or the baby survived, leaving Weston a single father in the flash of an eye.
He didnât hand it well, but his support system was his family and that of a local support system. Weston did not have any shame in talking about his feelings in front other Tupelo locals. And those who were not. All he wanted was for the pain to go away. Alcohol was the last resort for him, as he was a father to a one year old.
Weston, despite it all, would go to recover. He relied heavily on close friends and family through the beginning few years. It was around the time he turned thirty years old that he purchased Spins. The local record store had been on the rocks with a previous owner and well, Weston had always loved going in the store with Juliette. The two would spend countless hours thumbing through the records and finding the perfect ones to go home and listen to. So, he bought it out and has been keeping the place up and running for the last six years.
Prior to that, Westonâs jobs were hit or miss. He is a handy man, often helping out friends and family with side projects, but he could only work so much without having to pay an arm and a leg for childcare. When Justin went to school full time, he picked up days working at Bob and Ringoâs as a waiter. It wasnât the most ideal job, but it paid the bills.
Nowadays, when Weston isnât parading the town with his ten year old son on his shoulders, he is down at Spins, greeting customers with a smile on his face.
Weston still enjoys a pick up game of flag football or hockey in the winter with some of his closest friends. His drink of choice is absolutely bourbon but he wonât turn down a good beer. Weston is very close with his family and will protect them to his dying day.
Despite long giving up his bad boy period, Weston has been known to get into a bar fight here and there, but consider them all warranted as he would never do anything intentionally to get Justin taken away from him.
