Does Rue know anyone other than sonic and Eggman? How does she meet sonic (I'm sure you said this and I just totally missed it, I apologize)?

Do you think overall their story finds poorly ( worse than not finding Crow) or do you think they'll have a happy ending later on.... or is that kinda up in the air to explore?

rue meets tails at the same time as sonic, and eventually meets amy and knuckles as well in the story i have for them in my head. after that, sonic slowly introduces them to his other friends, or they meet them randomly on their travels

they also know big, and have known him since before the getting-turned-into-a-monster thing. they run into each other while traveling ocassionally and hang out :]

as for the ending of their story, it does have a happy ending (the plan is for them to reunite with crow and their bass guitar daybreaker dw). they just have to suffer a bit before getting there
