i'll never forget this period of my life & who made it feel softer/harder.

a lot of ppl left when the house was falling apart, not knowing I was tearing it down to build a mansion. I just wanted to see who was going to stay and grab a hammer.

I'm just finaaally starting to get onto the other side of what was one of the most consistently difficult times in my adult life.

Heartbreakingly, I learned that some of whom I've kept closest to my heart, taught me that I wasn't as close in theirs: and that's okay. but — to the ones who took even just a few extra steps to call, to come get me, to come sit with me, to create space for me beyond their expectations of me — man. I have a new perspective on so much.

It's a lonely world when you think you have to do it all by yourself, especially when your natural way of life is to encourage OTHERS to always lean on you, but, it's a much more affirming + comforting world to live in when you have a curated family built from friends you know for sure God has handpicked for you. "I'll never forget this period of my life & who made it softer + who made it harder."

Grateful.

being intentional is very important for me this year. i want everything and everyone in my life to have meaning. we are at the age where the decisions you make stick and the people around you become apart of your story.

so be sure about everything and everyone.

you need people in your life that are further ahead than you. people that have a bigger vision. people who are more experienced.

you need to be exposed to new levels so that you can go to new levels.

i’m proud of myself because even during some of the darkest moments i had this year. where it felt like i was genuinely fighting myself. i leaned on God. i prayed with the puffiest eyes and heaviest heart. my faith plummeted, it was literally still there - literally the size of a mustard seed.

i journaled. i wrote prayers on my sticky notes. i affirmed. i trusted. still not where i want to be, but i know He’s working on me.
