I've noticed a trend in some C4 meta and commentary that, for lack of a better descriptor, forgets that we are at the beginning of a story. A long story. The Overture has set the stage and we are only just starting out on the actual journey. There should and must be things about the characters that are primed for conflict, that are flaws, that are unresolved, that will change, or that have been established but might be unreliable. Even if you've already picked out your favorite blorbo, in order for them to thrive in a narrative said blorbo must have some kind of path to progress on. Let your blorbo be wrong. Let your blorbo be messy. Let your blorbo be complicated. Enjoy the process of the story!
