I MUST drop some info on bugs with wings. As I keep seeing people hurt bugs with / without intentions on it.
Do NOT hold a bug by it's wings, that is painful to the bug and can damage it leading to a quicker death in the future.
Unless you are a professional do NOT touch a moths wings, if you have been handling bugs for quite a while that does NOT put you in the professional category what so ever, unless you actually have a degree in entomology. This includes other bugs who's wings have a delicate function helping them fly. Putting a moth in a vent after touching one or trying to help get it's dust back is NOT helpful at all, this can hurt the month in many ways. This ALSO includes butterflies! Butterflies do not need dust, NOT ALL BUGS ARE THE SAME.
Just because a bug has pretty wings does NOT mean you can touch it! Please be mindful of bugs as if they are humans, just because a human has a pretty bag does not mean you can touch it!
If you need to feed a bug sugar water here are the steps to making some:
Get something small
You can get a lid cap the size of a penny to hold the liquid
Water + sugar
Fill the cap with a little bit of sink water (recommend sink water more than filtered water) and you can get some sugar to mix it in with, or the other method is to use agave honey (not actually honey)
After you have made the food do NOT place the bug in the cap, unless it is unable to move, even if it is unable to move DO NOT LEAVE IT ALONE, it can and will drown in the food. Place the bug near the cap, maybe even on the edge, and do NOT pick it up by the wings, I recommend you pick it up with a stick, if it doesn't have legs SCOOP it do NOT pick it up with your fingers, you MUST be delicate with the small bug.
