Jim gingerly took the weapon from Marcus. He noted how much lighter it seemed to be. He switched hands and tested the aim. He pulled it in for a closer look. He tried to make a few educated guesses on what she’d changed but nothing he wanted to risk saying aloud.
"I’m impressed, Dr. Marcus. Eager to give them a try on the surface," he returned the weapon to her and folded his arms behind his back. “How are you fitting in?" he asked, genuinely interested in how his crew was accepting her.
Carol took the weapon back with a smile. "You'll be more impressed when you see it fire." She promised him with a nod. His question caught her off guard. "I'm fitting in nicely, Captain. Why do you ask?"
