The term generic basically denotes to some class or group of things. Here generic system may be related with any system and specifically in our case and in context of this chapter primarily we will be talking about financial and accounting system.

Automating redundant processes, Defining complex processes, Staff resistance and Implementation cost. Processes which are not necessary and non-value adding processes and processes where high amount of tacit knowledge and personal judgment is required, are not good candidates for automating as these processes are hard to encode and automate.
