the greatest mystery to me is the cast of "lord of the flies (1990)" movie. the movie contains gore, profanity, murders in great detail, etc... and whole the cast are just children. i watched it when i was like fourteen (i assume slightly older than the actors) and i think i was scarred for several months after, like i watched a snuff movie or something. so, by the plot, the do play out killing animals & each other, demonstrating the disturbing cruelty of children that were left alone on uninhabited island.
aren't they traumatized after the filming? i mean, if the kid who played the main character in "home alone (1990)" (family friendly) later turned into an alcoholic, just because he turned famous from young age, what did the kids from "lord of the flies" felt?
i might be illiterate in that regard, but is it morally okay to film minors as main characters in movies with a rating higher than their own age? is it legal? did the critics raise the same question back in the day, when the movie was fresh? welp, every time i remember this randomly i keep on wondering. the same questions all over. a pretty solid mystery, to the say the least. i won't do the research on my own though..... too lazy for that....
h ow are you learning Japanese? Ive been wanting to learn for a bit. but I am young and don't have good resources.
1. memorize hiragana and katakana
2. search kanji meant for elementary schoolers (also just overall language content meant for children, it's easier to understand if you're a beginner). write them down in a notebook; watch out on the stroke order, usually websites like kanjisearch provide the correct order of strokes for easier writing.
3. learn basic grammar, like suffixes and sentence-building. treat all the three alphabets like toy cube blocks. the word order directly affects the meaning, so don't be shy to paste the sentence you wrote into translator to spot mistakes.
4. websites and other extensions
browser japanese keyboard
microsoft ime (in case you want to type in japanese directly on the computer)
site with handwritten kanji search
reddit tutorial for setting up a japanese dictionary extension right into browser
yomiwa (smartphone app , dictionary with random kanji everyday)
みんなの日本語 (minna no nihongo) nice notebooks for learners
various youtube videos about the grammar.
personal tip: when learning kanji, remember that these are words. you know, when in english we create words out of letters, the chinese crafted words out of stroke combinations (which the japanese later stole). so please tie your own association of meaning to each one, would be much easier to memorize them.
5. other
consider watching native speaking youtubers. the best way to learn a language is become used to hearing it. surround yourself with content in language that you want to learn. i initially learned english through western entertainment content, and recently i started doing that with japanese too. subreddit.
been getting into eggs lately. something changed in me when i ate a dragon egg at a restaurant, just a boiled and then marinaded in soy sauce egg. it was also like poached egg on the inside? tastiest shit i've had in months. i started adding raw yolk to noodles or rice and it's also epic, turns everything slimy and foamy. kinda feels like i'm eating the sun. i guess who's afraid of salmonella doesn't eat eggs (missing out).
Im so tired fuck it project hail mary but its bugbo

father made one extra teapot from isin clay that he claimed was "a failure". he wanted to make a round one, but the result is not quite the thing. i asked for this teapot to be mine, and as a way to seal it, i drew bugbo from one side, and 戦国turb from the other. some may remember a gray bugbo teapot, which eventually got moldy (i was too careless). this one is a second try to possess a bugbo teapot. this one is ginger, and much, much thinner than the gray one; when drawing on it i was careful not to ruin it.
but the shape is indeed ridiculous. watch me fight with my phone camera to capture the drawing.
💢💢💢 this clay is so beautiful and glossy, i can't be mad at it.
small teapots like this are made for brewing small amounts of fresh, strong tea for guest tea parties, a tradition dating back to medieval china. since the spirit of bugbo is sealed within the teapot, the first tea to be brewed was english breakfast.
i think #1 advice at life is never make your organism develop gastritis. do not drink coffee & soda often, do not eat instant noodles often, do not starve, do not drink shower water; and most importantly, do not eat sand outside. i won't even wish gastritis on my enemy bro, it just makes you nauseous in front of foods you may be excited about. constant stomach aches are influencing the mood. after acquiring this illness any fried foods are not safe to consume. only boiled and unseasoned stuff doesn't make you feel uneasy.
Would you ever draw a genderbent variant of the Bugbo cast? Any of them work, but just wondering if it's something you've ever considered (─‿‿─)
i've drew bugbo & thomas genderbent before. i think genderbent would work if you turn the whole cast into humans first. if they remain cartoony bugs and stuff, nothing would change when some of them turn into girls. or maybe that's just how i view gender. nothing in it matters really. reverse the genders and they will remain the same characters but w different anatomy.
although, if bugbo gets blurry eyes like all the canonical female bugs...? sounds more & more interesting as i ramble. quentin mayor as an old scrankly granny in the government? stone merchant as another scrankly granny but like 600 years old and kami? inepta witch? tomboy gradient joe in a skirt ohhhhgod
QUINTNEN MAYOOR BUGBO YAOI!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your art has been a huge part in me helping find my own personal style. It's something that reminds me of an old anime, and it makes me feel nostalgic! Keep drawing, and hope you have a great day

What do u think of the industrial hell aesthetic👀
i actually thought about it. it doesn't seem to captivate me as an aesthetic (i barely receive any aesthetic pleasure from seeing grey machines and dusty cables), but it's interesting as a concept.
here's an example. i was playing a game called disillusion st, and the plot happens in naraka, a place where souls reside before getting reborn again. it's very buddhist. but there seems to be a problem within naraka, an industrial rusty city which citizens are machines and mannequins. i didn't quite understand the problem, but i suppose the city is growing through naraka like mold and the soulless is outgrowing the population of actual souls. they also use intestines of a dead angel's body to power the tech in the city, which is why it is cursed and claimed unholy. the mannequins are programmed to bow and pray, but they are just objects rather than creatures. there is a character, a woman who only reads minds and doesn't have a mind on her own, she was sent to this city because the citizens around her don't have a mind to read as well. this part of the game is a metaphorって.思う.
in general, as a concept, kinda feels like the soulless, industrial hell is a burden to humanity. we live in just the right age for this theme to shine.
