I used to work at one of the hospitals he frequented in Chicago. He essentially paid for a floor to be set aside for him and his people to be available for whenever they needed it. One of the nurses who cared for him was still there and I asked her for any stories/memories she could share. She said all the nurses fucking loved him because he gave them amazing Christmas payouts and cartons of cigarettes every year.
