One, two, three minutes of pulling and threatening and begging the lock, but the thing remained firmly in place, uncaring; the cage door hadn’t even budged. Estrella cussed under her breath. “Tink, I think I heard something.” “Yeah, I think the lock’s giving-” “No. Listen.” Tink stilled, tending her ears. Footsteps. In the cabin, just on the other side of the door. “We have to go, Tink,” Estrella whispered, gliding to the window, the bag dripping fairy dust clutched to her side. No no, not now- A blue, hollow gaze drew Tink’s attention. Its emptiness was as sharp as a blade, piercing its way through the bars, and Tink staggered at the sight, the heavy lock slipping out of her hands, the sting in her palms forgotten. “Go.”

The other page I had done of their first proper meeting in the mer AU! I was wondering if I wanted to commit to doing all the shading and lighting on this comic since I did the first page that way, but it would be kind of relevant to the excerpt, so... I guess I'm buckling down for several pages of this! 😅 It may take me a bit to get through tho.

I think initially Bobby has a lot of language that kind of reveres Pietro as more of a deity than an person, and it would make Pietro visibly uncomfortable. While he loves praise and would eat it up at first, he'd start to wonder if Bobby is even seeing him as a person when he's trying to flirt with him and see him as an equal, while to Bobby, Pietro at first is something so incomprehensible and amazing to him that he doesn't think he could think of him that way (tho he is also crushing hard) And tbh, he's not too far off thinking Pietro is like a god when his daddy is basically Poseidon (tho he doesn't know that yet). Pietro just wouldn't want to view himself that way and wishes to connect with others, which is already difficult for him with the giant thing.

They'll get to talk it out tho, don't worry.
