His question had her smiling     not the usual playful, almost knowing smile that often rests on Vivian’s lips, but a genuine, almost endeared on instead. For all that she and Rae were open with each other, they weren’t always the best at voicing their feelings; certainly not in such a blunt way, one that left no room for doubt about their intentions. “That’s the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me,” she couldn’t help but joke, but the look in her eyes made it clear she was but jesting, that at the end of the day, she wanted the same thing as him.

Lena taps the chrono accelerator in her chest a few times. “ T’ keep me from zapping all over the place! He doesn’t do stuff like this though. Different quests maybe? “ She hums. “ What made you want t’ get into chemistry, Honey? “ Lena asks, puppy eyes aglow and head falling to one side. 

"Oh!” Lena’s kind words are met with an endeared smile. “That’s so sweet     but!!” Honey makes a dramatic pause for emphasis, before a more encouraging smile shows up on her features. “You’re already pretty amazing just being you.” Words that could be easily misinterpreted as being empty, but Honey was nothing if not honest. Even if Lena didn’t have the same knack for science as she did, Honey knew she exceled in many other things.

The chemist perks up at the mention of a fellow scientist. “Really? Oh, that sounds so great!” She’s all but bouncing up and down now. “I’d love to meet him     even if we work in different areas, I think it’s so interesting to talk about our projects.” It was ultimately a learning experience; not to mention Honey loved meeting new people in general.

She knew very well the meaning behind Cullen’s words     they weren’t the kind for labels, or even admitting they could possibly want more out of this. Yet Zoya couldn’t let him go on thinking there was something wrong with what he was bringing to the table.

"tsu-chan...” she’s used to her friend’s candor, for the most part. she knows tsuyu always speaks her mind     it’s a trait ochaco appreciates and values. but when that honesty uncovers vulnerability, it catches her off guard. not the fact that tsuyu has such feelings, but that she misses HER of all people. “    i’m sorry.” while her tone is certainly apologetic, there’s a smile on her lips. she doesn’t want to see her friend looking so sad anymore     she should give her a reason to smile instead.

In his mind the two of them got along well and worked together just as well. He did acknowledge that this may change their relationship a little. But then he also didn’t think that he had hidden anything from her when it came to his feelings towards her. “I’ll understand if you don’t.”

It wasn’t as if Aiko had never been asked out before     but it had never been by her boss; not to mention she had no idea Trunks actually saw her in that light, to the point of actually wanting to make a move. Though ultimately very flattering, it was also surprising.
