After the tragic events abroad the Skeld, Red and Purple, lacking a proper crew to help them run the ship, end up crash-landed on the planetoid known as the Fungle, alongside another crew of Mira employees who also got ship-wrecked here previously (because Mira takes wonderful care of their employees). That alone is already a lot to deal with, but don't worry: it gets even better! Because Red sustained a major head injury in the crash, and while they're still somehow alive--oopsy!--it seems their brush with death has given them the ability to see the ghosts of their original crewmates, who have taken to haunting them now. Purple, of course, thinks its just a delusion caused by the head injury when Red tries to tell them, but... they all seem so real to Red....

Welcome... to the "Welcome to the Fungle" au! Set immediately after the events of season 1, this is a continuation of the story I've been bouncing around with @artlesscomedic. The blurb above is the basic premise, but there's some more details that I'll put below the cut!
The Ghosts
The original crew of the Skeld, all of whom are just a confused that Red can see them as Red is. Between the nine of them, they present as 3 different types (all based loosely on neutral roles from Town of Us): Guardian Angels, Amnesiacs, and Executioners
Guardian Angels: As the name suggests, these ghosts are those who are in favor of Red and Purple's success and wellbeing, and who possess some sort of ability or abilities to help protect them. They present as standard among us ghosts but with wings that match their suit color (the same as vanilla Among Us Guardian Angels). They are Cyan (standard shielding ability, protected Purple from the crash, easily able to control the ability), Blue (healing abilities, just barely snatched Red back from the brink of death after the crash, not fully in control of when the healing occurs), and Green (the original, non-imposter crewmate, abilities currently unknown, but eager to help Red out regardless)
Amnesiacs: Like in Town of Us, these individusls are true neutrals. They don't have much stake in what becomes of Red and Purple. Similar to their in-game counterparts, however, they can be swayed in either direction to one of the other two roles based on the actions of Red and Purple, the other ghosts, or even the new crew. They are Orange (the original, non-imposter crewmate, largely still the same corporate shill, even after it all), Black (tettering on the edge of Executioner, Cyan's optimism is really the only thing keeping them from tipping over the edge), and White (constantly wine drunk and whining, upset they lost their perfect life, why are they even here)
Executioners: These ghosts exist with the sole purpose of making life harder for, or even taking out, their chosen target (who, for the most part, is just Red in this case). Like Guardian Angels, these ghosts possess abilities, but instead of for protection, theirs are detrimental. These abilities are aligned with the usual sabotages imposters can activate, even from beyond the grave. Their spirits give off a visible aura of malice that can affect their surroundings. They are Lime (specializes in machine-based sabotages, like reactor and comms), and Yellow & Brown (specialize in natural-based sabotages, like mushroom doors closing off rooms and mushroom mixup)
As mentioned, Amnesiacs can be easily swayed to either side, but both Guardian Angels and Executioners can also be reduced to Amnesiacs, or even flip sides completely, based on the circumstances (similar to how Guardian Angels and Executioners become Amnesiacs in Town of Us if their ward/target is taken out by someone else). For a Guardian Angel, it would require Red and/or Purple doing something so they lose faith in them or feel they are no longer worth protecting. For an Executioner, it would require either the actual death of their target, or simply reaching a point where they no longer think trying to kill them is worth it, whether because their target changed for the better, or the Executioner themself is just too exhausted of it all to continue.
The Fungle Crew
While not yet fully developed, the basics are as follows:
Colors: Primarily the colors from the game that got left out of the show--pink, maroon, rose, banana, grey, tan, and coral. Additional colors may be added as needed.
Roles: At first glance, what remains of the crew from the first ship to crash down in the Fungle seems relatively normal, even sharing some basic roles with the original Skeld crew, like medical or chef. But not everything is as it seems, Red and Purple will come to learn, as each and every living member of the Fungle Crew is actually an imposter of a varying type: shapeshifter, viper, phantom, maybe even just a normal guy with a gun. It's up to Red and Purple to figure it out before it's too late.

Finally done with the Unionbuster mini comic! Got pretty lazy towards the end (there was originally gonna be some writing for the middle few panels, but I was running out of motivation by then), but I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out :]
(WARNING: 18+ content below the cut! Minors please DNI!)
yeah i like to give my blessing to the most pathetic looking weak little knight at the tournament. she can’t even look me in the eye when i give her my flower and she stutters out that she’ll do her best or something of the like. i think its funny when she has to cry and beg my forgiveness and i get to say “such a shame, i suppose my hand in marriage will have to go to someone else…” and then i get to hear her whimper like a dog. ive done this like 6 times alrea-

There is no universe in which Green gets a competent, focused partner.
Realistically, Lime would figure out Blue's an impostor. Whether it be a hunch, a rumor Yellow started, or actual evidence, Lime would be on Blue's tail fast. Suspending our disbelief for a moment,
The idea of Lime clearing Blue all the time is great. The two spend so much time together that everyone just goes "yeah, neither of them can be the impostor" when more bodies show up. That means that when Blue vouches for Green's innocence, everyone believes Blue since their track record has been polished squeaky-clean by Lime.
The issue is that Blue isn't killing anyone. Yeah, turns out that spending so much time with Lime isn't just strategy. They actually got attached. Whoops! Cue the impostors growling at each other and fighting like feral animals because Green wants to kill Lime for sussing them out and Blue feels strangely possessive and territorial. Double whoops!
Nothing quite hurts like losing a beloved petmate.
You understand that more than anyone, don't you, Purple?
A (perhaps unexpectedly dramatic) introduction to one of the missing imposters from the initial Fungle Crew post: Banana! Designed by @frogspawn-vellichorr, you can find additional information on them here & here.
What can I say other than: who doesn't love a little bit of situational irony?

Hiya! Sorry for such a delayed response (and also sorry for answering through a new ask instead of replying to yours, I wanted to make sure I don't lose the reference). I just wanted to say thank you so much for the concept of Banana that you sent in regards to the Welcome to the Fungle au, and I also wanted to bounce some ideas off of you about them!
One of the potential additional imposter types I was thinking about adding was something tied to petmates. The idea kind of came from listening to Epic the Musical (which I do a lot while thinking about Welcome to the Fungle bc Red and Purple give me such Odysseus and Eurylochus vibes, but that's beside the point), specifically listening to the Circe saga. An imposter who kills in defense of their followers, like Circe, except in this case their followers are just. Petmates. Idk it sounds a bit more silly typing it out than it did in my head but I still like it, heh.
I felt like that could be a good fit for Banana, if you're okay with that? Like they're a researcher who has a soft spot for critters, preferring the company of nature over other crewmates. And also their bushfriend, Bee, of course! Perhaps they even have a level of control over any petmate they meet, not like mind-control, but just being able to communicate and effectively persuade them to their side. And maybe they get the impression from Purple that Red had something to do with Heracles's death, and they're immediately like "Oh okay they have to die then".
So some additional context that I don't think I've really explained in any of the posts thus far: Everyone from the Fungle Crew were, initially, intentionally recruited by Mira--or more specifically, Pink--for a very specific goal: To make sure PJ didn't survive this trip. Long story short, PJ basically stepped right outta The Most Dangerous Game, and having a kid with murderous tendencies is Not Good PR for Mira. So Pink decides to discreetly take care of it. In addition to the entire crew being some form of imposter, the ship they set out on was also intentionally sabotaged to crash at some point. So perhaps Banana, with a natural gift for communicating and instructing petmates to do their bidding, was chosen as a sort of backup scenario if neither the ship crash nor the other more aggressive imposters kill PJ: every planetoid has SOME form of petmate, so worst case scenario, there's an imposter who can use them to their advantage against PJ.
(They're certainly not the only backup plan among the imposters, if that sounds like an explicitly bad thing. Pink just really wants to be sure this plan works out as intended and PJ doesn't come back. I actually also finally came up with a plan for one of the other imposters I had left, Rose, to be a "jester", which if you've seen any Mongy-Monday or just general Town of Us stuff, is a neutral role that tries to get voted out to win, and then once they're voted out, on certain settings, they gain the ability to kill one of the people that voted them out as a ghost. Before that, though, while they're still alive? Completely harmless person, couldn't hurt PJ or anyone else even if they wanted to. I just thought that might be a cool concept because since the jester does their killing as a ghost, that could get the rest of the Skeld Crew ghosts involved more.)
Anywaaaay, I feel like I'm getting off topic. Let me know what you think about the ideas! If you are chill with them and I end up using your design in the AU, I'll always be sure to give you credit ofc! Here's my attempt at drawing them for the little reference cards, like I've done for the other four already!
Regardless of your answer, thanks for the feedback and interaction! I appreciate it ^u^
Thank you for reaching out! Sorry I didn't answer earlier. I don't usually check asks, since I usually only really do reblogs, so I don't really get them.
I really like the idea of a petmate related impostor role! Perhaps the various animals on the island with which Nana formed a bond can work as an alert system of sorts - say, if Purple and Red get close to discovering something, Nana will be on the spot in the matter of minutes, after a birdmate flew over and alerted them of it. They don't actually know what is happening there, but they know there may be a potential danger to the operation.
The help of petmates in combat, if that ever comes up, would also be a very interesting thing to explore. What would this role be called? Petmate Whisperer? Beastmaster?
Nana disliking Purple and Red because they blame them for the death of Heracles is an interesting angle. I think it heavily depends on the circumstances of them finding out. An interesting thing to explore would be if Nana would sympathise with Purple, and blame only Red. Maybe have Red suspect Nana, but Purple trust them, because Nana were very supportive of them when they found out they lost Heracles.
I think at some point, in the final conflict between Nana and Purple & Red, perhaps after Purple found out Nana is an imp, Bee ends up dying, and that breaks Nana. They would definitely lash out, but I think it would be a rather sad scene.
Nothing quite hurts like losing a beloved petmate.
