“Guess I just have got to give myself a few days to get properly settled. Probably doesn’t help that I haven’t taken a real day off since getting here until.. well, today.”

"Where do you work?" Warner asked, his eyebrows raising. "I've been working a lot since I got here too."

She was sure everyone had that moment - when they needed a breather from life. Maybe that was what she wasn’t offering herself and why she’d been struggling. Kicking off her flipflops, she followed after him with a soft hum. “It’s warm a good portion of the year. At the very least people will go surfing year round,and its nice to dip your toes in even when its cold - the sand and the water is practically like therapy.” Stopping ankle deep, she wiggled her toes to bury in her feet in - the task made easier as the water receded and drew close once more.

Warner nodded in agreement, "I like that- the water and sand being like therapy." Growing up, he had never had a ocean near him so he had been going to the beach nearly every day since he moved to the island. His feet buried in the sand as they stood there, toes wiggling in the waves. "I've only been here for a few weeks, and I'm definitely not used to the ocean yet. But I love it."

“Can’t be nearly as bad as the city.” He commented, lips curling into a small smirk. “Lived there on and off growing p and it was absolute hell figuring things out. The layout made the streets easy to navigate but if something ever moved.. good luck.  Thankfully things here can’t go far.”

"The street layout here is pretty simple- since there's only so many streets," Warner laughed. "Everything is relatively close and stuff. I grew up in Carson City, in Nevada, and it was pretty confusing. But it's simpler here."

Chuckling, Iliana gave her head a shake. “I assure you, you didn’t disturb it in the slightest. I think the distraction was must needed.” Her eyes flickered in the direction of the water, and with a huff, she hopped up from her seat, carefully arranging her items so they wouldn’t be disturbed by the wind. “Not a terrible idea honestly.” Offering the man a smile, she held out her hand. “Iliana, nice to meet you.”

Warner nodded, "I can understand that, needing to take a step back from what you're doing." He glanced over at the water, enjoying the way the waves crashed up on the sand and pulled back, revealing sand crabs and sea shells. Smiling at her, Warner shook her hand, "Warner, nice to meet you as well," he let go of her hand and began walking towards the water, kicking off his shoes. "It's not too cold," he called back once his feet touched the water.

Lost in her own thoughts, Grace found herself walking back home after a meeting. She had originally planned to only walk till she found a taxi, but she had just kept going in the end. She jumped slightly when she heard a voice coming up next to her. “I guess not?” She scanned him suspiciously. “Do I know you?” She added, not really sure if she should be walking next to him if she didn’t even know him. This was probably how horror movies started. If she had watched them, she’d know.

Raine brushed the excess coffee from her hands onto her jeans and muttered a think you to the friendly stranger. “No, no burns. I guess that’s one upside to them making shit lattes, they never make them nearly hot enough.” She chuckled, glad to find at least one good thing from the situation. “And where would you recommend for lattes?”

Warner chuckled, nodding his head as he hands moved into his pockets. "Well, the cafe I work at is a few streets down and I would have to say our lattes are pretty darn good. I might be a little bias though," he laughed. "I'm Warner, by the way."

“Most places are quite confusing at first.” He admitted, head turning to glance in the direction the man had pointed. “It would seem we have… endless amounts of time here so, thankfully we will learn, eventually.”

"It's a small island, but everything is clumped together, which makes it even harder to figure it out." Warner nodded in agreement. "Eventually, we'll learn the way of the land."

“Can’t disagree with you there.” She commented. It was the entire reason she’d chosen the spot. It was away from the masses of people and allowed her the chance to take in her surroundings without being overwhelmed. “Honestly? My class has this assignment due - a choice project really. And I haven’t been able to paint anything and be pleased with the outcome. The beach has almost always been my place to come when I need to think so I figured why not here? Unfortunately it hasn’t helped much. Creativity block or something..”

Warner nodded, "Sorry to disturb the peace, I hope I don't break it too much," he said, giving the girl a smile. "Maybe try running in the water for a while or something? Stop thinking about it for a little bit and have some fun, and then maybe you'll come up with something?" he suggested. Warner knew that whenever he wanted to do something, he had to stop thinking about it and do something else for the motication to come to him, so he figured it might be a god suggestion. "I'm Warner, by the way."

“Oh gosh,” Olivia glanced down in front of her just in time to gracefully take a large step over the gum.  “You, my friend, are a lifesaver, these shoes are almost brand new, and that would ruin them.”

Warner continued walking next to her, giving her a nod that signified he was saying you're welcome. "Getting gum on your shoe is one of the unpleasantries of life. They are very nice shoes."

It felt like Cordelia became even more tired at the sight of her ex-boyfriend, Warner, walking in. They didn’t end on the best of terms and she knew that they had to talk to each other eventually, but she definitely didn’t want it to be this night when she was tired from working, and she wasn’t even sure how well she looked, considering she had less than four hours of sleep last night and had been running on coffee for the entire day. “You better not,” she said with a roll of her eyes, but then let out a soft sigh. She was just tired, and though they did break up, she had no right to be snappy at him. Cordelia knew that if she was to be snappy, she better do it when she wasn’t tired and had actually good reason to instead of just the fact that she wanted to snap at whoever came near her. “Just finished jogging?” Cordelia asked as she looked up and saw his attire. She was opting for some friendly conversation for now, to try and see how else she should react to him being there with her at a bar. “You going to drink?”

Warner wanted to be anywhere but there, in fear of awkward conversation or saying the wrong thing. There relationship hadn't ended on the best of the terms but that didn't mean he wanted to hurt her feelings or say something to upset her. His thumbs twiddled together as he sat there, eyes loking anywhere but at Cordelia. He didn't mind her snappy comment, she looked tired and he knew she had probably had a long day and work. If anything, it meant she was talking to him and he would take what he could get. He nodded his head at her question, "Yeah, but I got tired so I just came in here to chill and cool down," Warner was okay with the small talk- he would rather have small talk than no talk at all; it seemed less awkward that way. At the next question, he shook his head, "I wasn't really planning on it," he replied with a shrug. "I might get some wings or something." He might've drank, but he was afraid of saying something stupid or something he would regret, so he chose to stay awat from the alcohol.
