no i got diagnosed likeeee last year? the most important thing to remember is you absolutely have a say in your treatment. when i was diagnosed i had a convo with my doctor abt not wanting to diet and not wanting a medication like metformin that would make me miserable. im on glimepiride but theres a number of diabetes meds that are effective and dont cause weight loss. if thats ur thing ofc! u always have a choice, you can always change something if ur not liking how u feel! i feel that theres a lot of shame assigned to a diabetes medication that makes ppl feel like they should put up with negative side effects as a sort of penance but as long as ur treating ur diabetes ur succeeding imo 💕
