but to be slightly more serious, i think the fact a lot of the other characters use her position as saint of joy against her is quite sad. it's comical that a woman so obnoxious and generally unpleasant is saint of joy, of all things, but i think the fact john and augustine especially hold it against her for laughs is horrifically unfair considering that the reason she's so sour is because she's traumatised and horrified by everything she's experienced. with gideon it's understandable, she makes a joke out of everything and doesn't know why mercy is the way she is, but with john and augustine it's different—they've known her for a myriad plus some, and yet they still turn her title into a joke whenever she expresses negativity (which, granted, is a lot). they have some serious misogyny to work through and i propose mercy be given a gun and let loose.

I imagine all of them carry some guilt for the way they treated Nat pre-crash and in the wilderness, but I don't think anyone carries the responsibility of making up for that and putting Nat back together over and over again more than Taissa.
