I hate when comic writers forget that Eddie Brock is a writer.

He's not an idiot who speaks in simple words. He's an idiot with a vast vocabulary and he's going to flex it as much as possible.

Yeah, the character was silly and goofy in his earlier years, but that humor came from how he takes himself too seriously. His internal (and external) monolog should be loquacious and dramatic, as a counterbalance to how Peter's is always sharp and quippy.

Ultimately, any conflict between Peter and Eddie in Earth-616 should be, at its core, Tired STEM Nerd vs Dramatic Literature Nerd.
