Our swamp tour was absolutely one of my favorite things we did in NOLA 🐊The tour guide was a local who actually lives on the swamp. The most famous cemetery in NOLA due to it holding Marie Laveau’s tomb (photos 4, 5, 6), as well a Nicolas Cage’s tomb… because yes, he has one ready to go for when he dies. It’s the pyramid one… because, of course it is. The cemetery is no longer open to the public due to people vandalizing Laveau’s tomb to make requests of her as a powerful spirit and “Voodoo Queen” (the 3 Xs in photos 4&5 are part of the “request” process).
