restaurant au for all the 127s is fun too i am sad i myself have never worked in food so i probably dont know half of the bizarre, stressing, and also amazing things that could go on but i just imagine that if taeil is like the main chef i guess the persons whose recipes are being served and doyoung is his second in command it's like having one boss be a chill dude and the other is running this kitchen like the navy
taeil is kind of like ahhhh i made this dish when i was simply a young broke culinary student and it's nothing special here is the recipe and it's like an intense outline of specific techniques that overwhelms anyone just looking at it and he's like ahhhhh but it was but a snack for me back then! oh time passes so quickly. he 100% does not like take the scope of his talent seriously and therefore cannot really assess others work ethic because showing up and loving to cook is enough for an A+ in his book
meanwhile doyoung is a stickler for every little thing because his standards are out in the goddamn moon but it's justified because he has even higher standards for himself and he wants nothing more than to keep taeil's name in the pristine condition by making sure nothing but gold standard food that tastes EXACTLY as taeil would make it leaves the kitchen and people are like please take the cooking spoon out of your - but doyoung literally doesnt give a shit about any mean comments he has heard them all and he has built the self confidence walls high enough that no one is getting over them but his family bye and also his waist looks so fucking delicious in the apron how small is it oh my god im losing my mind
host jungwoo is taeil's favorite employee (along with server haechan - even though he never admits this because he is a sweet guy who loves everyone) because most of the reason people come the first time is to eat the food but the reason people come back is because they all fall in love with jungwoo after talking to him for .03 seconds like i imagine it's kind of a casual but upscale place so jungwoo has to be polite and clean but he's still charming and he smiles and everyone in the vicinity is questioning their marriages and relationships because he very much could be the love of their life. i think he'd also just look so snazzy in the getup mr. black button down with the sleeves rolled up ....... doyoung gets irritated with him every night over something but jungwoo is just like <3 ok but you will love me when this shift is over <3 and doyoung swears up and down he won't but in the end of course he does. everyone does. jungwoo once showed you to your table and when he leaned over to fix the napkin at your place he winked and said something about maybe leaving your number under it after you were done with your date implying that he would definitely be better than whoever you showed up with and im telling you i think he's right about THAT
sommelier johnny and bartender yuta :3 just two cool guys who know everything there is to know about their alcohols except johnny also knows shit about theater and the arts and yuta is aware of what football team is making it to nationals and they can each talk a customer into buying the most expensive thing on the menu if given the ample time and johnny is actually qualified to work in what might be considered a more "fancy" establishment but he chooses to work with taeil because he adores him and taeil let's him pick anything and everything to stock and he doesn't mind that johnny sometimes shows up to work in a bowtie - something that doyoung thinks is ridiculous and horrible - meanwhile yuta actually learned bartending on the fly through odd jobs and his techniques are sometimes nothing short of unordinary and it makes doyoung anxious but taeil is like i trust him look at him he's a great guy ! because this is my au i dub yuta thee tattoos that he's supposed to hide during dinner service but once that's over and it slows down he opens up his shirt a little and you can see the outlines on his clavicle and down into his chest ................ you ask him once what the tattoo is and he just says you'll have to get him naked to find out and you're like wh and he's like im serious though in both a literal and flirty way. also because my au i give johnny an explicit need to overshare his random facts about wine that usually people just get bored of but that you're like no tell me more and he's like oh and you're like were there any weird uses for wine in the past? and johnny is like OH I CAN GET INTO IT but we'd need to set up a separate time and place because im still on the clock. johnny is only allowed to have shoulder length blonde hair in this au.
server haechan was initially rejected from the job by doyoung but then brought back by taeil and he is a sever point of contention for those two but haechan does his job well - it's just he has no interest in hierarchy and he talks super casually with taeil and doyoung is like UM and taeil is like hehe funny boy anyway he's fast and thorough and claims he has a photographic memory and he barely ever gets orders wrong but he can get heated at stupid customers but that's ok because everyone on the team knows when haechan is at his limit and they just send out slightly more people friendly busser mark who even wins over the grouchiest of customers because he smiles and the whole world turns pink and overgrown with flowers. haechan is also like >:3c hehe you are older but you are a busser and mark is like it's ok! i am working my way up and he really likes to watch johnny work because johnny fascinates him even though mark thinks all wine tastes the same..............haechan meets up with you in the alley in the back of the restaurant because you sneak him candy in the middle of shifts where he rants about doyoung and gives you quick kisses before he has to go inside and mark always brings back all the to-go containers with all the yummy desserts taeyong makes extra of and you guys eat it together on the small couch in your small apartment that sits ontop of a local laundromat and as you can see im crying
obviously taeyong is in charge of dessert because he's sweetness himself and he was actually classmates with doyoung in culinary school and the only person who can even kind of talk him down from a micromanaging panic .... pink apron......likes fresh flowers to be on the tables so he requests it and taeil is like ok if taeyong says so let's do it and doyoung is like ANOTHER expense i faint anyway he likes making french little desserts because they're cute and he's cute and he once had to walk through the dining area to find jungwoo and everyone nearly choked on their food because UM YOUR HANDSOME FACE? HELLO? anyway taeyong keeps his most precious sweets a secret because he only ever makes it for big important private events OR for you when you come to eat there and everyone knows that you're allowed to order from the secret menu because yongie has a crush :3 and he thinks about making you all the sweets in the world! even thoug he's too shy to ever come out and say it of course
also because im suffering writers block and have been metaphorically chained to the wall of despair ...... i started thinking about the #classics for aus so like barista/cafe au is where ive been mentally for a while
i know it's overdone especially for neos but the idea that jaehyun works in a cafe and absolutely SUCKS at his job but is kept on payroll because a dedicated number of customers stop by to get the shitty lattee just to look at him is so good
you have to go to this cafe because it's the closest one to your job and you know jaehyun cannot make coffee for shit so you avoid him at the counter but you're nice about like you let people skip you in line and you try to catch doyoung or johnny
BUT..........jaehyun thinks you are the cutest person he has ever seen so he goes out of his way to take your order and he tries to do latte art and make a heart but it just looks like an abstract circle and it's cute and nice but also you cannot even drink this $6 latte it somehow tastes so bad but you cannot tell jaehyun off because 1) be nice to food service workers and 2) you're not a mean person jgkrdhkldth
in a hallmark card movie twist you befriend another customer at the cafe, jungwoo, and he's funny and outgoing and so you two just talk to each other whenever you're there together and jaehyun's a little jealous so he's like lemme be just a lil bit spiteful and make this jungwoo persons coffee BAD
but.......he tries to make it bad and it cancels out his already bad skills so the coffee actually turns out GOOD which shocks jungwoo and you, who gets a sip of the coffee when jungwoo tells you it's actually tasty
so now you always try to go to the cafe when jungwoo is there so you and jungwoo can swap drinks because jungwoo's always taste good and yours always taste bad even though they're both made by jaehyun

Sheβs a fiercely loyal friend (though it takes some time for her to completely open up to others; easier to lose her trust than gain it π¬) who will always have your back. She enjoys traveling and reading and loves having conversations of all sorts (from deep to silly) with close friends. I was wondering if this drabble could be done in the Fantastic Beasts universe? Itβs a fine day for getting in trouble. Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein walk through the crowded streets of New York, doing their best to not trip over uneven cobblestones. Newt squints over at Tina, one hand wrapped protectively around a battered suitcase that definitely does not contain a multitude of exotic magical beasts.
βWhy are we here, again? Weβre looking for a way to stay undercover, I didnβt think weβd be trotting around the city on a fun little jaunt.β
Tina smirks. βWeβre not on a fun little jaunt, weβre here to find an old friend of mine. If you want someone to help you hide from the rest of the world, look no further than Y/N L/N.β
Newt frowns. βY/N L/N?β The name sounds familiar, but he canβt place it immediately.
Tina nods, the look on her face almost reverent. βWe went to school together. Sheβs quite possibly the most fascinating person Iβve ever met. It seems like sheβs in a new place every week, and has probably traveled to a hundred different countries by now. She has contacts in high places all over. If we want to hide, we go to her. Easy.β
Newt stares. βWait, I think Iβve heard of her. I had a few friends from Hogwarts who might have mentioned her once.β He blows out a low breath. βI didnβt think Iβd actually get to meet her myself, sheβs somewhat of an enigma in the wizarding world.β

Before Newt can argue that he would certainly never do such a thing, Tinaβs knocking on a blank stretch of wall. Newt is used to detecting magical places, but he hadnβt picked up on a single thing here. A moment later, a section of the wall about the height and width of a door shimmers and turns into dark wood, with a brass doorknob turning to open up the whole thing.
A woman stands in the doorway, leaning against the frame. Her eyes flash from Tina to Newt, taking them in gravely. Her mouth is a thin slash like the cut of a dagger, her wand balanced between her fingers. Newt has the uncanny suspicion that this is someone to trust, someone who could drag him out of a sinking ship but throw him back down just as fast.
Y/N (for of course it is she, no one else could have such a presence) considers them for a moment longer, then breaks into a smile brighter than the sun just starting to poke through the clouds behind them. βI was wondering when youβd show up.β
She turns and heads back into her house, gesturing for them to follow. Tina and Newt exchange glances, and then retreat into the house. The door shuts behind them, and all Newt can think is that he might have embarked on the best part of his journey yet.

recently i have just been thinking about mark lee and how he genuinely feels everything with clear and pure intention so imagine how intense the emotion would be for him to witness the person he loves be so alive and happy while being with someone else like β¦. just think about it
like youβre at the christmas office party being thrown in this little break room you and some others helped decorate. one of the coworkers who helped you hang the ornaments and wreaths and ribbons is none other than your fellow desk buddy mark, he held the shaky old step stool when you got on it and modestly averted his eyes to the floor - all the while making sure that if you slipped heβd be in the right spot to catch you. mark with his shirt sleeves rolled up and his slightly crooked tie that he can never knot right and his half smile whenever you secretly make a face at him when an email from your boss pops up on your screen. mark who makes you giggle when he tries to balance his pen on his upper lip and mark who walks you to the bus stop and waits for it with you when you do have super late overtime because itβs dark out and he doesnβt mind the extra few minutes if it means he knows youβre safe. you know, that mark, who is now standing awkwardly at the fold out table with all the snacks everyone brought and plastic cups watching you and your boyfriend who just arrived, nuzzle up to each other under the rows of stockings you and him had put up only an hour ago.
see mark doesnβt have a mean bone in his body. heβs the office sweetheart - everyone from accounting to hr adores him. heβs always helping out and every new employee has their first work week crush on him. he denies this of course - especially when you poke fun about it - because he isnβt charming, heβs kind of goofy and this blonde hair of his must annoy some people after all. mark doesnβt know why his stomach feels all weird when he suddenly remembers coming in after getting his hair cut and dyed and everyone said it looked good but you had ran your hand through the side and said it looked really good. the way youβd said really had made him dizzy with an excitement he hadnβt had since he was in highschool. and right, he isnβt mean, but he suddenly feels like he definitely isnβt in any mood to be nice either.
but his mom taught him better and plus - jaemin, your slender and slim boyfriend in the red leather jacket to match the holiday cheer - seems pretty cool. mark forces himself to shuffle over and introduce himself just as you turn to tug jaemin down by the collar to whisper something against his ear. jaemin gives you a grin and the sparkle in his eyes makes you laugh against your hand - mark has to tell himself itβs normal. couples have inside jokes.
when he introduces himself and your eyes go from jaeminβs to his - mark is aware that you look happy not because heβs come up to you. not because heβs mark - not because heβs your mark. but because you get to show him jaemin, your jaemin. all smothered in new love and infatuation. jaemin shakes markβs hand with a polite grip and says βheβs heard all about himβ and mark goes βall good things, i hope?β
mark doesnβt say much through the short conversation, what he does get out of his mouth sounds robotic and scripted like heβs playing the part of an extra in a horrible c-rated hallmark movie. you donβt notice because your focus is full of jaemin and jaeminβs voice tangles in with his laughter so mark just tries to chuckle along at the appropriate times.
you excuse yourself from mark when you spot jeno across the room and pull jaemin over to say hello. mark looks down into the cup heβs holding and the hot chocolate inside is stilled and cold, all the marshmallows have sunk to the bottom.
christmas is one of his favorite holidays but the colors and candy and warmth donβt reach him - itβs some cheap office get together and he wants to blame it on that - but even then heβs not so sure this holiday season is going to be anything but bleak for him. when he leaves the bustling room for a moment to go to the bathroom he sees you and jaemin in the hall. youβre putting something on - maybe a necklace - that he guesses jaemin brought with him to the party. the silver from the chain gleams and it catches on markβs cheek. heβs around the corner before either of you notices.
the stall door closes behind him and mark pulls his tie off, then the lanyard with his badge on it, and then the santa hat you asked him to put on for the party. he doesnβt like the aftertaste in his mouth that he isnβt sure is from the bad hot chocolate, store bought candy canes, or the realization that his feelings are useless. cant make someone fall in love with him if theyβre too busy falling in love with someone else. hed need a christmas miracle to pull that off right?
mark doesnβt know if he should cry or just force himself to laugh it off. heβs not a kid anymore and maybe thatβs the real reason it doesnβt feel like christmas anymore. he used to think he could ask nicely, from his parents or his teachers or some jolly old man in the north, for whatever he wanted and because he was so sweet he would get it.
βhey, for christmas all i want is you.β
mark wonders if he can say that out loud to you would it change anything? or would it just make everything worse?
he doesnβt want to go back to the party, he wants to fake sick and go home. but he puts his tie and his badge back on, abandons the santa hat in the bathroom and returns.
when you brush past his shoulder to bring a plate of cookies over to jaemin you ask if heβs ok? mark smiles and says yeah. of course he is.
