ugh...

I think a lot of people's idea of good representation is just making a character that will make bigots stop being bigots rather than making a character that people can see themselves in. I think people are afraid that jax will give transphobes a reason to continue being transphobic. I see that a lot and not just with trans people. Some trans folks will be like "we have to act a certain way so the transphobes will like us." But at the end of the day if a transphobe sees a trans person acting negatively or stereotypically and use that person's behavior as an excuse to continue being transphobic then they're a fucking idiot especially if that "person" is a fictional character. It's not a trans person's responsibility to change the way a transphobe thinks same with gay people, disabled people and people of color that's their journey to take not yours. I still hate Jax but the way I see it she's good representation because a lot of people relate to her and her struggles. Jax is a cautionary tale about how repressing and isolating yourself can turn you into a monster.
