I am Muninn GrƔbjƶrnsson, and welcome to my little slice of the internet. This is my personal blog, with a loose focus on Norse polytheism. I'm mostly just going to be sharing things I find cool, interesting, funny, or important, and sometimes you might see my own writing, which is usually devotional poetry (#my writing).
About me:
šŗ I was born in 1995, you do the math.
āļø I'm a Norse polytheist, which most of my writing is about. My practice is animistic, and includes ancestor veneration, spirit veneration (husvƦttir and landvƦttir, primarily), and deity veneration.
š¦ā⬠I have a pretty solid interest in mythology, nature, linguistics, and mathematics.
š® I love video games, though I don't play as much as I used to, so expect to see occasional posts about Fallout, Baldur's Gate 3, the Elder Scrolls series, and Valheim.
āļø I've been slowly getting into solo TTRPGs, mainly Ironsworn and Iron Valley, so I may be posting about that on occasion.
This is an inclusive blog, and I believe heathenry is open to all. Folkish, fascists, bigots, and Nazis do not interact. I will call you out and I will block you. As is said in the Havamal, stanza 127:

racism runs so deeply in people that if you call it out you are calling out them, and instead of sitting down and examining their own racism they lash out at you for being sooo meansies to them. you don't even have to be talking about anyone's racist behavior in particular because it makes racists so uncomfortable they will come forward themselves and act like you're targeting them specifically. it's okay when they do it because they're doing it in the correct way, in the nice way! they don't mean it like that. in fact they're actually being progressive. you're the cruel one for acting like their racist behavior is racist. you're the problem if you're bothered by their comfort racism. you're the bitchy colored person who makes eeeverything about racism when it so clearly isn't. i'm fucking sick of this.
Hug a loved one for Baldr. I'm serious. Call a friend, ask about them. Tell someone you love them, and let them know you care. Truly care about someone, and open up to them if you're feeling up to it. You only get one life with them. It's one of the most precious lessons that Baldr teaches.

"Stop scrolling and please help me spread the word, because if I've landed on your page you're most likely either a black woman or someone who cares about black women and the simple phrase I'm about to share could help save a black woman's life.
Doctors are to black women what police officers are to black men. That may seem controversial but I believe it to be true and I speak from personal experience.
If you've seen this TikTok you know that a 2016 study showed that 50% of medical students and residents thought that black people couldn't feel pain the same as white people.
And we learned from this video that because of a 1999 study, to this day, there's a black correction factor for the creatinin levels in black people's kidneys, meaning we're less likely to recieve a kidney transplant if needed.
So if you go to a doctor, feel you aren't getting proper treatment or they refuse the treatment you've requested, say to them the following:
I will need you to document on record that you are refusing the treatment (or medicine) I've requested, and the reason you are doing so."
This works. I have used it in other situations. If medical staff have to document and take responsibility and be on the hook legally for doing shady shit they behave much differently.
If you werenāt already going to spread this advice because black women are at risk, then spread it because itās applicable to everyone else as well, including you reading this.
But particularly women, and especially black women.
Just because I can shove a bottle up my ass doesn't mean it was made for that.
There are at least three reasons why it's highly unlikely they weren't used for kitting.
At time time, people wore leather gloves.
Knitting wasn't developed yet, the closest was nailbinding which required simple needles.
It was found solely on Roman borders, if it was a common knitting tool, it'd be found elsewhere, like in homes where people knit for fun.
The wear suggest they were used in a stationary way. Not as you tool you rub wool on, and accidentally drop it from time to time.
Recent theories how they were used are:
Measuring time using balls of fat. You place a ball on a hole, set it on fire and when it drops, it means it's time for the next shift of guards.
Proof of craftsman skill. Creation of such complicated device would require a skilled metalworker. So, when a bronzeworker was looking for job, they had to make them this first to prove their skills. In a city, people knew you and remembered you, so you could smelt and recycle the thing, but on borders it might be more useful to keep it around.
The Roman dodecahedron, an enigmatic artifact dating from the 2nd to 3rd centuries CE, has puzzled archaeologists and historians for centuri
Roman dodecahedra, bronze craft and Roman metalworking have generated a long-standing interpretive problem, with proposed functions ranging
Cool. The post never technically says that that's what they were made for originally, just that they can be used that way. I just thought it was funny lol

It's the Royal Academy of Art Young Artist's Summer Show. One of my favourite exhibitions of the year. Like. Not only are the older kids insanely talented, the younger ones' artist statements will just punch you right in the face.
