Tender beef short ribs slow-cooked in a flavorful spicy Asian sauce, perfect for a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients: 3 lbs beef short ribs. 1/2 cup soy sauce. 1/4 cup hoisin sauce. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 2 tablespoons rice vinegar. 2 tablespoons sesame oil. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated. 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes. 1/4 cup water. 2 tablespoons cornstarch. Green onions, for garnish. Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish.
Instructions: Put brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, and hoisin sauce in a bowl. Mix them all together. Put the short ribs of beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them. For 6 to 8 hours on low heat or 4 to 5 hours on high, until the meat is soft and falls off the bone. Toss the beef short ribs with the sauce after they are done cooking and set them aside. Add water and cornstarch to a small bowl and mix them together to make a slurry. Mix the slurry well with the sauce in the slow cooker. For another 15 to 20 minutes, on high, until the sauce gets thicker. Serve the beef short ribs with the sauce that has been thickened. Top with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
