Hi, I really love your art style, it reminds me of the BLAME! manga. Do you have any advice on where to start learning such a style?
Thanks! I think Nihei is a master of conveying a strong sense of form with very minimalist rendering. I would pay most attention to values and composition, with a foundational requirements of having a strong grasp of visualizing objects in 3d and how 3d objects interact with light

The ncro-tech girls, what do you think they sound like when they talk? And how would they speak?
It’s an interesting question - ultimately they’re a form of undead construct, so the degree of retained personality is quite variable. It also depends on whether speech capability is built in by the construct-meister & what form it takes. So all in all it could be anything, and it just depends on the quirks of the individual
Which other artists inspire you?
Other than those mentioned in my latest post, I take inspiration from a few different sources.
The foundational influences are western fantasy artists such as Frazetta, Brom, Blanche, or Kopinski - mostly illustrators that worked on fantasy and sci-fi properties circa 1995-2010 and their predecessors. GW stuff was a huge draw for me & a lot of Warhammer-isms have seeped into my style, for better or worse.
Other major influence is manga, which I’ve always loved to read, but have only more recently taken a more systematic approach to studying. Artists such as Nihei, Q Hayashida, and Togashi are obvious inspirations (and so is Giger, at the root of it all), and old school B-Club designers like Kobayashi, Kondo, or Yokoyama are big influences as well.
recently I’ve been trying to make a stylistic shift, with a more flowing & stylized approach to form, a la Thores Shibamoto or CLAMP (and of course Nagano is in this space as well), although I still have a long way to go in this regard.
