I think the Digital Circus fandom is entirely run by an AI with the mentality of a 12 year old tween who's suddenly connected with adult animation.
It's hallucinations. It's tesselation on limited content. It's deeply being used as a mirror for childish insecurities. And it's promoting a gender narrative & sexual side that isn't there.
The last episode itself did aptly cover the idea of the one most terrible thing we hide in our memories as a psychological block.
Then the fandom melts down because:
1. The mini AI finally realize they are AI and not human. And there is no life beyond the server.
2. Their avatars are as is. They don't have complete sensory or sexual functions.
3. Eventually that lack of equilibrium and the data redundancy causes the AI to degrade into an abstract tesselation.
The anti thesis character basically commits suicide because the construct of the avatar is NOT the human its brain scan was imprinted on.
The fandom insists there's a side where a avatar with a flower and a dress would have solved this terrible end.
They insist a female gender affect on a asexual genderless avatar would have fixed everything.
And fuck me that's the most algorithmically tunneled gender binary promoting fan art and theory only a child could reason out.
Because animated characters are avatars and utterly a creation of artists who make choices to ignore or emphasize patriarchal gender affect dyads.
Look at the message and you'll see what they are telling children. "There's actually a happy ending because you are affecting as a sex object to mainstream men and being a lesbian to entertain mainstream men."
