Rp starter- Keith Kogane
“ugh…” Keith muttered. His fingers gripped the edge of the sheets and rolled over a bit, trying to hang onto what he knew was his last bit of sleep for the morning. Finally, when he looked over to the clock and realized it was already eight thirty (at least, on his watch from home) he decided it was time to get up. He rolled over and pushed himself up into a sitting position, rubbing his eyes, and muffling a sleepy yawn.
He got up and stumbled over to the closet, grabbing one of his black t-shirts and pulling on a pair of cargo pants over his boxers.
Stifling another yawn and leaning backwards, the red paladin shook himself and bent over, seeming to be reaching for his toes. Then he proceeded to plop onto the ground, throwing out his legs and bending over them, gripping his feet in a stretch.
“Ahhh,” Keith rubbed his eyes again and leaped up, heading towards the bathroom.

The training room was chilly this morning. Keith opened up the doors that headed up into the room where they kept the tech for the training room. He walked up the stairs and slumped on the ground next to the computer. Pulling out his phone, he immediately clicked on the camera app.
Keith liked to take photos of scenery back on earth and reminiscing of home sometimes meant going through them. He sighed as he scrolled past the photo of his old shack and came down to the section with photos from the garrison.
He skipped past them and continued onto some more landscapes.
Rubbing his forehead, he sighed again and got up. This was ridiculous. They probably wouldn’t see home ever again anyways.
Lance had been awake for almost ten minutes.

Keith jumped, hearing Lance come into the training room below. There were speakers leading into the viewing box, so he could hear him muttering very clearly. He spun around, still crouched on the floor of the room, and crawled towards the viewing window. For some reason, Keith didn’t really want to be seen, or at least judged, moping around in there, looking at old pictures. And Lance would definitely judge him, if anything. Keith wasn’t completely sure of his feelings about Lance. He knew the other teen thought they were rivals, and sure yeah, he was annoying enough to be, but honestly, Keith mainly just felt awkward around him. Embarrassed, even. He wasn’t completely sure why. As he peeked over the edge of the control center, he started getting that feeling again. Like… Nervousness… In his stoumach? “Ugh, this is ridiculous.” He muttered, forgetting the mic was turned on. As his voice echoed through the speakers into the training room, he instinctively ducked begin the control panel. He quickly slammed his hand on the mic button. “Oh my god, drat.”
Lance was just about to leave the room, planning on complaining at the red paladdin later for playing with him like that, but suddenly he could hear a familiar voice coming from the speakers at the training room. It didn’t sound really loud, but it was enough for Lance to know from whom the sound was coming to his ears.
“There you are…!” He immediately turned around to face the upper room. “Wait, did you just called me ridiculous? ” He was shouting from below now, face showing an annoyed expression. He would never accept being teased by his rival after all.“ I’ll have you now that I’m the most amazing person you’ll ever meet in your life, Keith!” Without stopping his words, he started walking towards the other paladdin’s location. Lance wasn’t able to see his face, but that really wasn’t an obstacle for him. “Hey, are you listening?” __________________
When the brunette finally reached the door, he had already planned a very long and exhausting speech full of ego, expecting to see Keith’s usual irritated expression that always encouraged him to speak even more, but a crouched and disoriented figure was there to receive him instead.
“Uhmm… is this a new kind of training you are practicing with, or…? ”
Why was Keith all alone in the tech room to begin with? All he could do was stand there without moving a single muscle.
Keith figeted nervously. He had already put his phone away and had been pretty much frozen against the control table awaiting his fate as he heard Lance walk up.
“No, I um,” he paused. “I was actually just sitting up here, looking at pictures.” /No! That’s not what I meant to say!/ he thought to himself. “Ah, yeah, thats all.” he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. /Well at least I’m being honest? Thats better than nothing right?/ He doubted this highly but still tried to convince himself as he stood up, feet planted on the ground in a socially awkward terror.
“Um, do you want to train or something? Why did you come up here anyway?” he asked, trying to distract his “rival”.
He noticed he wasn’t exactly afraid as his stoumach turned upsidedown. Once again, he had more of the heart-stopping, butterflies-in-the-stoumach feeling. Why had Lance come up here, anyways? Was he looking for him? /Wait, what would that mean? He want’s to hang out with me? Oh god, what if Lance likes me?/ The thought came so suddenly and unexpectedly, Keith couldn’t wrap his head around it.
/No, don’t be stupid. He obviously doesn’t like you. He’s straight right?/ his thoughts were slowing down to a slightly less crazed pace by now. /Wait, why did I even…/ He shoved the thoughts out of his head and looked back at Lance’s face. /Okay, just wait for him to answer/
The brunette arched an eyebrow as he listened to what the red paladin was saying. So, he was just looking at pictures. Right, but why exactly was he doing that in the tech room all alone and crouched?
‘Wait a minute.’ Lance’s expression suddenly went from confused to mischievous. ‘Was he… was he looking at pictures of pretty girls? That’s why he is acting all misterious! ’ He found this conclusion hilarious since Keith always gave that look of a serious guy who had no interest in flirting with people or romance whatsoever. But the way he was behaving didn’t escape to Lance’s eyes; he could easily tell that the mullet was feeling nervous, and it was actually … kind of…cute?
‘Stop it right there, Lance. We’ve talked about this before.’ He immediatly thought. It wasn’t the first time he caught himself calling Keith cute, adorable, or some other affective synonyms; the fact that it became more frequent as time passed didn’t help at all. Living in denial and not overthinking was the solution for him.
“So the pretty boy finally aknowledges my fighting skills, huh?” Lance smiled arrogantly on hearing the other’s offer of training with him and was actually glad that Keith didn’t try to get rid of him. “I just came here because I was curious. You can’t just let your rival do whatever he wants, you know?” The paladin explained as if it were an obvious statement.” But I wasn’t… exactly expecting to find you here looking at pictures when I entered the room. Oh forget that, more importantly…” He crossed his arms looking directly at Keith’s eyes. “…have you been looking at pictures of pretty girls all this time and you haven’t even asked me, the lovely Lance, for some great tips on how to hit on someone? “ He asked looking all offended, but at the same time enjoying his teasing on the other guy.
