It wasn’t all too foreign of a notion to recognise Kaminari Denki as one of the more… friendly elements in class 1-A. There was no one who appeared unfriendly or unapproachable in their class, that was true… Sure, the actual exceptions to those where Bakugo and Shouto himself, who still hasn’t found a way to get rid of the impression of distance he has all but forced into his peers by forcing himself to wear it.

But no one was unfriendly per se.And then there were some who were just a tad friendlier than others. Who liked to laugh loudly or encourage one another unapologetically. Who were filled to the brim with energy they were more than intent on portraying, in great contrast to the exhaustion that never quite makes it past Shouto’s filters.There were those who could just drape an arm around Shouto’s shoulders with such incredible ease, that Shouto can’t even begin to wonder if he minds it or not.

Because he admired it. Kaminari’s smile, that grin that is as his as is the strange lightning bolt in his hair, and the easiness with which he seemed to have wanted to approach even him, someone who kept to himself at the back of the class for a reason, and that reason being his inability to keep up with exactly the group of individuals Kaminari was a strong part of.
