“neito? honey, i gotta change…” you said with a nervous laugh, trying to gently pry his arms off you. but he just shook his head, his grip tightening slightly. “no.”

you sighed. “what do you mean, no?” you asked, your voice tinged with exasperation. he looked up at you, his face completely blank, but his eyes held a stubborn glint. “no.”

you groaned, letting your head fall back against the arm of the couch where you’d been trapped for the past two hours. “baby, please,” you pleaded, your voice softening as you tried to coax him. you wanted nothing more than to slip into something comfortable and start on dinner.

“let me appreciate you for one more hour,” he murmured, his voice low and soft, savoring every second of having you so close.

“nooo…!” you huffed, feeling your patience wearing thin. “you already did that for two hours, neito.” he just shrugged, a playful grin spreading across his face. “i can do it for another,” he teased, clearly enjoying how flustered you were getting.

“neito!” you whined, but there was no real heat behind it. despite your protests, you couldn’t help but smile at how adorable he was being, even if it was a little over the top.

he finally lifted his head to meet your gaze, his expression softening into something almost vulnerable. “you’re nothing less than perfect, my dear,” monoma said, his voice filled with so much sincerity that it made your heart skip a beat.

“neito,” you whispered, your voice barely audible as you searched for the right response. but what could you say when he looked at you like that, as if you were the only thing that mattered?

he smiled softly, sensing your shift in mood. “just stay here with me a little longer,” he murmured, his thumb gently tracing circles on your arm. “dinner can wait.”

you sighed in defeat, “you’re impossible, you know that?”

“maybe,” your husband chuckled, nuzzling into the crook of your neck, his breath warm against your skin. “but i’m not letting go. not yet.”

you couldn’t help but smile. what was one more hour?

“fine,” you gave in with a soft laugh. “but after this, you’re helping me with dinner.”

“deal,” he agreed easily, clearly pleased that you gave in.

after a while, you felt his breathing slow, his body relaxing more against yours. “neito?” you whispered, glancing down to find his eyes closed, a peaceful expression on his face.

“just resting my eyes,” he mumbled, though the way he clung to you told a different story.

you smiled fondly, pressing a soft kiss to the top of his head. “i love you, you know that?”

Manga sniffling and trying not to cry as Kendo approaches him and tells him that it's over, it's finally over, there's no more war. And it just makes him cry more as he shakes his head and tells him it's not that he's scared for himself, or happy it's over- it's about Monoma. He's not okay.

No thoughts just-

Kendo, Manga, Pony, and Awase racing down the hallways of a very busy hospital, fitting in with the running around doctors, trying to treat the patients from a war just ended. They're stopped a few times, being told that some of them clearly need medical attention and to sit tight, but the doctors are shaken off saying they're just trying to get to room 4307. They're told that room is busy and cannot be disturbed, the doctors are shaken off.

No thoughts just-

The four of them making it to the room at just the worst time. Pony opens the doors in a panic, trying to find her friend. She and the others are being forcibly removed because it is not a good time for them to come in. They try and fight their way in the room, with the door still open, and they can hear the loud screeching flatline. Awase stops in his tracks as the sounds enters his ears, Manga freezes, his face blank. Pony knows what that means but she forces herself to not believe it, believe that's for someone else, some poor other soul, and Kendo, who fought the least because she understood the predicament the hospital- along with every other hospital- is dealing with, begins to fight her way into the room. She needs to see him, she's the class prez dammit! She's carried out over a pro's shoulder, the others not carries away so differently, as she reaches her hand out trying to grab at the doorframe and pull herself towards him.

No thoughts just-

Vlad King rushing into the hospital and looking over at the waiting room chairs to see four of his students sitting in them, all of them with different expressions. Kendo is curled up in her chair, her face not even visible, Awase is leaned against her with his arms wrapped around her and tears spilling from his eyes. Manga is full on sobbing, unable to control himself. And Pony staring into space, limbs limp but eyes puffy and red. None of them notice their Homeroom teacher in front of them and Vlad decides that's for the best as he rushes off again to Monoma's room, hoping what he was told isn't true. Hoping he doesn't have to re-enter the waiting room space just to make this other students cry even more.

"neito you look so cute!" you'd say as you pet and played with his fluffy blonde ears. he definitely did not copy your quirk so that you can dote over him like this!! definitely not!! (bro is NOT fooling anybody).

whenever you text him "i love you" he acts as if its the most obvious thing in the world and acts all high and mighty about it when really he's giggling and kicking his feet.

he loves spending time with you, texting you to come over to his dorms or on a small date outside campus whenever your schedules are free.

pays attention to every detail and makes sure you have a fun time.

gets a bit jealous at times when you're busy with your class instead and will be a drama queen about it.

before you two began dating, he used to have a secret class 1a slander account. it was never that serious, just some snarky comments here and there. most people suspected that it was monoma but they never really had any solid proof.

however, all their suspicions were confirmed one day when monoma admitted that he had a crush on you and accidentally posted it on his slander account instead of his private one which had only his close friends in it. (a/n: been laughing about this for too long bye)

he deleted the entire account in panic before you could see it 🤗🤗🤗.

he posts regularly on instagram, mostly a story spammer. posts you a lot too!

whenever you post on instagram, best believe he will be the first to like, favorite, repost and comment. biggest fan ever fr.

he will proceed to boast and ramble about you all day to his classmates and friends.

"HEY L/N!!" a voice called from behind you, making you turn around. "oh hi tetsu! what's up?" you say as the boy flashes you a mischievous grin. "did you know our dear monoma over here has been talking about you all day? like, seriously man non stop-" tetsutetsu began before he was cut off by monoma harshly slapping a hand over his mouth, "HAHAHAHA THERE YOU ARE TETSU! OUR TEACHER IS ALREADY HERE WE SHOULD GET GOING YEAH, LET'S GO!", he exclaimed hurriedly before dragging tetsutetsu inside the classroom with him, leaving you stranded and giggling in the hallway.

Not only is it painful to see Monoma (a usually confident and energetic guy) lying in such a vulnerable position on the stretcher, but we see Manga with him. Monoma's fellow classmate, also half-alive, begging him to live on. It's such a small panel, but making the person with him a 1B student instead of just another pro hero/background character is such a nice addition.

It makes me so happy to see the relationship between Monoma and his 1B classmates outside of the light novels, but it hurt since we're only seeing this when Monoma's injured. In the main series, we barely if not never see anything that shows the relationship between Monoma and his classmates (It's largely just them telling Monoma he's bothering 1A). Even in the light novels, the respect and love 1B has towards Monoma is written but unsaid in dialogue/said when he is away. So I am so grateful we're finally getting dialogue on Monoma's (positive) peer relationships, albeit small, from here.
