Hey, I hope this isn't weird. I saw that you are or were an au pair in China and I was just wondering what your experience was like. I'm looking to become an Au Pair but I am having a hard time finding a good and reliable program.
I am sure this is an old message, and I am sorry that I did not have the time to answer sooner. But here’s my feedback from my experience as an Au Pair:The expierience as an Au Pair is amazing. Depends on how much time you are staying is how much you’ll have to pay. The flights and visa are on you. Although the reimburse money for the flight after you are done with the program, the money isn’t much. Your Host Parents will pay you at the end of each month, so you will need a few extra money to arrive and buy stuff there before they pay you. Everything is pretty cheap in China, so you wont waste much. Plus, if you are a really good AuPair, the family may give you some extra love here and there. The organization I went with (http://www.aupair.chinaeducators.com) is safe and very nice. They will help you in any way they can and guide you through most of the process. It will be fun, but also stressful and exhausting since very few Chinese people respect the working-hours limit. A friend of mine over there tried to make them respect that agreement and the family kicked her out of the house. So be prepared to work hard, specially during the weekends.Hope this helped!
