Ever since Kuuchuu Barunko has gotten viral on TikTok, there have been accounts illegally uploading it to music streaming sites. It’s one thing to want more accessibility to the artists we listen to, it’s a different story when you are actively making money from work that doesn’t belong to you.

We know that Japan isn’t the most known for being the most accessible when it comes to their distribution of music, which challenges the current streaming era where we have everything at tip of our fingers. HOWEVER, this is not the way to go about it. If you want to listen to the song, there are plenty of ways of doing so (YouTube, Local Files on Spotify, etc.)

I’m happy that Plastic Tree has been getting more attention and more fans as a result. I just wish that it didn’t amount to… this.
