Balancing the tray of baked goods in one hand as he reached for the doorknob, Tenner carried the colorful array into the common room shared by all those in his dorm, noting the severe lack of bodies as was the norm around this time of night. Only on the weekends were you bound to find a soul or two rooming the common rooms at four in the morning.

Setting the macarons carefully on the counter, he reached into his back pocket for the note he’d written as an explanation.

‘I received a very sweet thank you from someone who regularly partakes of the spoils of my stress baking and in the note, I was informed that macarons were their favorite baked snack. I was in the mood to grant wishes, so here you are. I hope you enjoy these spoils as much as the others. I look forward to your reviews.’

Tenner set the note along side the tray and snagged one for himself before striding from the common room back to his room.

She stretched her arms above her head, working at the knot in her back as she made her way to the common room. Just as she entered, her footsteps paused, curious at the sight before her. Set right in the center of the counter, was a delicate array of colorful macarons on a cream-colored plate, a small note placed by it’s side.

She took the note in her hand, eyes skimming over the neatly written message, and couldn’t help but smile at what was written. Putting the note aside, she took a raspberry colored macaron and gently bit into it.

“Mm…” her eyes closed as she savored the treat’s decadent flavor and distinct texture, “Shit.. These are better than my mom’s.”

Chuckling to herself, Avani turned the note around, grabbed a pen from the counter, and scrawled out a response of her own as she stuffed her mouth with another macaron.

‘To the talented stress baker who kindly granted my wish: the macarons were delicious. I was pleasantly surprised- more by the gesture than by the quality, since I’ve yet to be disappointed by the ‘spoils of your stress baking’. And since this note was written specifically for me, I will safely assume it’s fine for me to take the rest…? Thank you~

As for my review, I’ll give these a 9/10 (the raspberry flavor was just a tad overwhelming, my friend). I hope you continue putting your stress into the wonderful sweets that keep this struggling artist going…~’
