Features and typical colors of Aegirian clothing were removed for a low profile, with a style closer to land dwellers' attire. The feather on the hat was replaced with dull colors, and the clothes were mainly made of leather for durability and ease of cleaning. The cravat was tied casually, with the end tucked into the belt or a buttonhole. The weapons included a newly made greatsword, rapier, short sword and daggers. Using small and light weapons helped him master accuracy and combat skills against human opponents ("I hope I don't have to use these."). The small pouch made in Aegir was still there because it was not very conspicuous, and the consul's badge was also there but hidden inside the left shoulder armor, with the ribbon folded for storage (also to avoid attention). Additionally, a waterproof document bag was carried on the belt to prevent precious intelligence from being damaged by water.

About the greatsword: the sheath has retractable parts on both sides, when unfolded it looks like the anchor he used to wield but it's much lighter. The blade inside has ragged edges like a saw, adding grip and making it easier to rip open slippery seaborn flesh and the hooks near the tip can catch and drag the innards out to stop their fast regeneration. He deemed it immoral to use it against human opponents and seldom unsheathed it, whenever he did use it against sea monsters he usually killed them very quickly with a few well-timed and critical strikes.
However, the land people weren't easy on him back then. Sometimes he had to defend himself, or fight back using his rapier and other smaller weapons. When he refused to draw his greatsword, it wasn't out of arrogance but the belief that land dwellers aren't his true enemy.
