I know this may seem redundant given the fact that most of this has already been said over the past two or so weeks, but I really need a place to voice my feelings about what I just read. And, yes, I created a new thread for this on purpose. And, yes, this may get deleted or even get me banned from the forums. We'll see. I'm going to try my best to remain "respectful" throughout this post, even though the person I'm speaking about does not appear to have a shed of respect for the player base in any way, shape, or form.
We all know about the blog that was started two or so weeks ago. We have all read its contents. I am keeping up with this blog and the update that was most recently posted to it actually flustered me. Let me tell you, this whole "scandal" with the staff didn't really affect me in any way before this; I was just going along for the ride through the perspective of a player. Now? I'm kinda unbelievably disgusted with the entire situation.
It's one thing to hold secret events for your friends. It's one thing to give rares to your friends. It's one thing to use colorful language when doing your "job." It's one thing to use that colorful language to refer to your "coworkers." (Though this is most definitely unacceptable behavior as well.) At the end of the day, these are actually the least offensive things that you've done. ('You' refers to she-who-must-not-be-named). Incredible.
However, it's another thing to make fun of players behind their backs. It's another thing to laugh about their disabilities. It's another thing to have absolutely no respect for the game you claim to care about. How can someone like this be expected to keep the game a safe, happy place? How? I genuinely would like to know.
Before the whole "just enjoy the game and be grateful for it!11!!" crowd comes in here, I'd just like to state that I am fully aware that we are "lucky" to have this game back and all of that, but seriously? I know that this is "just a game," but actual, real people are playing it. These individuals are impacted by it every single day that they play. It breaks my heart to know that one of the main people involved in running the game has the audacity to laugh about a player's disability behind their back and is allowed to stay in their position after the fact. It is absolutely mind boggling to me that this person has been able to retain their position even after everything that's come out.
I just don't even know what to say anymore. I'm just shocked that... this person hasn't been let go or had the decency to step down.
This cannot die down. We cannot just let this get swept under the rug. Someone like this shouldn't be in a position of power, especially in a game like this... a game where people are supposed to feel safe and comfortable playing it.
