this is a catoegory of traits i’ve noted about nagisa, which i have written down in an honest to god physical notebook. these will mostly be scattershot thoughts i jot down while reading through dialogue, and will also most likely be the fullest category.

comparisons to joker

this is for any comparisons i make between nagisa and akira kusuru/ren amamiya, aka joker from persona 5. expect this to be a very thin category, as while i enjoy comparing and contrasting them, i feel that conversation has the potential to become wildly toxic.

this category is for my more put together thoughts about nagisa, specifically about how his “desire to live” manifests, though it can and will encompass my longer thoughts in general. these will be more thought out than my journal notes, as i feel i have more to say about this than any other category.

the sisyphus theory

this category is for any analysis pretaining to the theory that not only is nagisa stuck in a time loop, but his story specifically relates to the story of sisyphus, the greek king of legend who cheated death multiple times, and is forced to eternally roll a boulder up a hill; once the boulder is up the hill, he is free to enter elysium, but the boulder is enchanted to forever roll down the hill just before it reaches the top, keeping him trapped in this 'loop' for eternity as a punishment for defying the gods. simple, really! these are not formally tagged as such, due to them falling more into the 'theory' category, but i feel that i should put them all here.

merope is most likely named after the nymph merope, who is both known as the 'lost pleaid' and sisyphus' wife

sisyphus is punished for cheating his own death (will be expanded on later)

BONUS: while not about nagisa, i believe lufel's story will also mirror the story of prometheus
