Looking back on the first Shrek, he is a great prospect from ogre POVs. He cleans, cooks, reads, paints, probably makes his own furniture and clothes, can wrestle groups of men, crossed a lake of lava without hesitating, survived a dragon with smarts...

In one of the latest episodes, Matt says to Karen that he believes in the system, but it doesn't look like he's trying too hard to help the system process Fisk. My impression is that he's thinking that if he punches enough Fiskers he is going to find The Magical Piece of Evidence. He's been a lawyer for a while, so one would think he'd know better. He is not seeing the bigger picture: Fisk has money, power, a whole network of bribed and extorted people, probably layers and layers of ghost companies, borrowed names, money laundering schemes, etcetera. Matt might just burn himself out and not achieve anything if he keeps self-sacrificing to be The One That Brings Fisk Down. Trying to be a martyr is fitting to his character, but it will be his doom if he doesn't do something different this time.
