Take random samples throughout the yard/garden/field to make an estimated average guess with the end result.

Slow bake them in an oven to completely dehydrate them. All water has to be removed because it can affect the weight and how easily it burns.

Once the samples have been completely dehydrated, weigh them individually on a scale and record. (Remember to detract the container.)

Then, set them in something non-flammable (maybe a pan) and set the sample on fire.

Let it burn away completely.

Weigh the sample again, then subtract from the original weight.

The weight that was lost was the amount of organic matter burned away.

Repeat for all other samples, find out the average between them, and that is the estimated average of organic matter per square foot of surface soil.

You can also compare between samples to guess which areas need more compost than others.

It's only a rough guess, but it's an easy test you can perform at home.

The pain of not being believed, of victim blaming, of people pulling away, of legal, medical or mental health professionals not taking you serious, can be more traumatic than the event itself, because these are the people you should be able to trust.

Women, people of colour, disabled people and people with mental health problems who are more likely to be victims of violence are also believed less about their pain.

The trauma of the second rape has been described as more difficult to heal from.
