The film manages to surprise time and again whilst remaining true to the narrative. It succeeds in adapting to the times, accompanying the protagonist on his journey and allowing the audience to witness his transformation. The worlds of film and theatre merge through the magnificent fictional performance both in front of and behind the camera, and the film editing; everything interlocks with rhythmic precision. The result is a fascinating superhero aesthetic of great visual power and clear narrative tension, blending tragedy and comedy.
