This is silly.

This is too much for a too-simple gesture and Troy knows he’s probably going to make a fool of himself because of it. But, he’s already standing outside the door of Z-3 with a modest platter of strawberries and pretzels, and he’d look even more of a fool turning back now.

... This is still ridiculous.

“Yuan?”

It’s amazing how much stamina this man has. He’s doing all kinds of routines, jumping and skipping as much as he can. If he wasn’t so scared of dropping his phone, he would probably be doing flips, too.

“ ♫ We’re soaring!” 

♪     “Flyin’         There’s not star in heaven         That we can’t reach.”

Actually, he does bump into a few people along the way. It’s a downright miracle his phone hasn’t dropped and shattered.

♪      “If we’re trying         Yeah we’re breaking free         Ohh, we’re breakin’ free!”

He even does a little shimmy for this part.

“ ♫ Creating space between us, ‘Till we’re separate hearts.” 

He indeed does notice that there’s movement on Troy’s side of the call. He holds his phone up and takes it as his cue to begin running, too. Karamatsu has absolutely no idea where in the world Troy would be, but they’ll find each other. He had the feeling. He takes in a deep breath, now singing louder as he ran through the streets - 

“ ♫ But your faith, it gives me strength,  The strength to believe….” 

Ohhh. Here comes his favorite part. He’s skipping through the streets of Sector One now, unabashed to any possible onlookers.

Ah, well, he did mean that he’d make his way over to where Troy was - but singing over face time was something Karamatsu didn’t get to do often, so he might as well. 

As soon as Karamatsu hears the first few notes of the song, he blinks a few times - he knows this song! “Got’cha.” 

“ ♫ If we’re trying, So we’re breaking free.” 

♪     “You know the world can see us        In a way that’s different than who we are.”

Karamatsu can probably see the buildings shift past Troy as he starts running forward. Troy doesn’t know where his shirtless leather-jacket clad friend is, but he will find him. And they will finish this song together.
