Marko

Marko is a vampire, and thus a warlock, and I think he is multiclassed as a druid - see the pigeons. Specifically, he is a Circle of the Shepard Druid. They are the druids with the best bonds with animals - see the pigeons for an example.

However, I did think about the pigeons for a half second too long, and angst has found its way into this post. See I believe that as a human, Marko had a connection with many kinds of animals, not just pigeons. Talked with them, fed them, housed them. But vampirism has likely interfered with the Druid stuff - and now many of the animals are afraid of him/will not go near him. An exception is the pigeons.

The pigeons are the only connection that Marko would really have left to nature, and while he does not cling to most of his humanity, his life as a Druid and connection to animals were such a big part of him that he cannot fully seperate from it. So even as nature recedes from him, he is clinging to the last bit of itself available to him - the pigeons.

Ok so the coke box? Did the Chinese place give it to him? Did he find it himself on the road? Do they just have boxes in the nest for this type of situation? Does Marko specifically horde cardboard cuz it's a good craft material?
