Damian WAS raised as a weapon. That is fact. Kid was put through the fucking wringer since birth. Depending on the writer it's harsher or 'softer', but point remains that Damian was raised in what's essentially a murder cult with his only purpose being to kill and to take over the LoA or Batman's cowl one day. Even if we take a version with a softer blow (ex. one where Talia wasn't written to be horrible etc) he was still perma abused.

Nobody's normalizing that, it's just part of who Damian is, like how Dick's parents died or Jason died. It's an essential part of his character.

If we take that backstory and replace it with a normal childhood, none of his character development makes sense. Because the point is that he finally learns to be his own person instead of just the bloodstained sword he believes himself to be.

I need Kon and Jon to be brothers

Like just imagine, Kon facing initial rejection from Clark because Clark is in his "wtf is happening" mode still. But if we ignore DCs messy canon and work with a general age estimate that makes sense for each character, that means Jon was already born. Maybe still a baby or toddler, but he was already there.

And Kon saw how Clark was acting when he was being an actual father and was a little bitter. Like yeah he adores Ma and Pa, but why can't Clark just look at him like he looks at Jon?

Meanwhile little baby Jonno was awestruck by Kon because he thought he was super cool! So he sought him out and would try to spend time whenever he could. Kon couldn't stay mad at a kid that technically did nothing wrong and he liked the feeling of family Jon was emitting. So the two got close.

When Jon's powers kicked in and Clark and Lois tried to dial it down, teaching him how to hide himself instead of fostering his abilities, encouraging him to be more human instead of Kryptonian, Kon would be there to support and teach Jon how to deal with his powers. Because yes, Kon isn't technically Kryptonian in the same way Jon is and at least a part of his powers is synthesized sigh TTK as far as i'm aware, but he can still teach him what he does know and how to control and train his powers.

Obviously i don't want them to be super close and attached by the hip or something. That's not them. They still fight and still mess with eachother because that's just what siblings do. But where used to be hostility is a softer edge now. They're not particularly close, but they understand eachother better and can relate enough to not want to throw the other off a roof.

When Tim falls asleep in front of his laptop or the batcomputer, Damian puts a blanket over him or adjusts his posture in a way that's more comfortable and not as devistating for Tim's back. Damian does his best to talk Tim through anxiety attacks or just listens.

Tim learns to be a big brother and does his best to be there if Damian is genuinely upset. He leaves Manga he knows Damian likes and has been looking for in his room.

When one of them feels cornered, the other stands up for them and tells whoever is pushing to back the fuck off. If everything gets too much they talk about their shared insecurities of inadequacy and hype each other up that it's going to be okay.

When one of them just needs a quiet space, they retreat to eachother's company because their respective rooms are always quiet and the other person is a safe person who won't unnecessarily push but understands the struggle. I need you to imagine Damian fighting with Bruce and storms into Tim's room. He doesn't say anything, just sits on Tim's bed to brood and Tim looks at him from his desk before quietly placing a water bottle next to him before returning to his work. It's a silence that grows comforting. No expectations of explanation or whatever. Just coexistence.
