Pulled up this pic because…It was raining all this morning. Just as I walked to the window to look out to see how flooded the street was, a young, tall and thin 20ish guy with long black hair came walking along the sidewalk in the midst of a moderate to heavy downpour. His hair, black jeans and t-shirt were drenched. And then I realized he was barefoot. His huge feet were glaring white, as though being barefoot wasn’t a common activity for him. But he shot up high onto his long toes with every proud high arching step. I live on a street corner and when he got to the corner he continued boldly through the several inch deep puddles and narrow streams that ran down the road he crossed. As he stepped up onto the sidewalk across the street some asshole in a car flew by and re-drenched him. He stopped for a few seconds, shook a bit, then spun around in a full circle and sprang up onto his toes again, undeterred. I lost sight of him just as he plowed boldly and effortlessly through a large patch of mud and rocks the heavy rains had washed down onto the sidewalk.
When guys go barefoot, they must be determined to get where they’re going. Their feet take the abuse, do the work, conclude the journey!
