On the night of June 15, around 1 a.m., russian drone hit the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. This is not the only building to have been attacked by the Russians. But it is one of the largest Christian monuments in the world to have been damaged.
But this is not the first time russia has tried to destroy Ukrainian history.
In 1941, during World War II, Soviet troops blew up the cathedral. According to a long-standing "legend" spread by propaganda agencies, the bombing was allegedly carried out by the German occupation authorities.
However, later, soviet propaganda attributed the "feat" of blowing up the cathedral to the NKVD - a soviet agency that, among other things, was engaged in the fight against national movements that preached the idea of national independence. After the explosion, the church was left in ruins as evidence of Nаzі crimes. When in fact it was the work of the Russian authorities.
