The Phoenix

I’m singing sunrises

I’m laughing winds

I’m roaring twilights

I’m howling midnights 

I am composed of fire. I must consume everything around me to survive. I never chose this way of life, but I have learned that only through destruction can I create myself. I can level a mountain, and from those molten metals I can form a sword.

I am composed of water. I must wear down everything around me to move on. I never chose this way of life, but I have learned that only through repetition can I find peace. I can shift the tide, and with that towering wave I can destroy. 

I am composed of earth. I must break and crumble. I never chose this way of life, but I have learned only through living can I find salvation. I can reshape the earth I’m made of. And with the world I create I can form a new path.

Grit your teeth, dig your feet into the dirt, and survive.
