every time adobe does some bullshit with their software you get motherfuckers going "now's a good time to remind everyone TintonProClips is completely free and has all the same features as After Effects" and you look it up and it's linux-only and the ui is in yucatec maya
I know I'm doing what the post is making fun of, but seriously, if you don't need Adobe for your job, it's probably not worth it, and there are decent alternatives, for Photoshop at least. I use Krita. Clip Studio Paint is another good one (I have it but could just never really get used to it). Affinity has a whole suite of products. If you don't truly need Adobe, just try some other programs. There are plenty that are downloadable (not in-browser) and available for different OS's. A lot of them are free or have free trials. The more popular ones have decent tutorials and support from the company and/or other users online. It's going to be weird at first while you get used to things working differently, but you might find one that works for you, and think of all the money you'll save.
I use the Photoshop alternative GIMP, which is free and open source and has most of the features, and it runs on Windows.
If you need Linux but can't get rid of Windows for work or whatever, the most user-friendly distro I've found is Mint. You can do a dual OS, or if you have Windows Pro you can run it on a virtual machine with Hyper-V manager, which is free.
Hair Rock - why yes please...I have very distinct memories of waiting for many of these songs to come on the radio so I could record them on my *gasp* ghetto blaster that had a detachable casette walkman and detachable speakers (corded of course). It was peak entertainment...
