What was you favorite part of decayed? And who was your favorite character?
i was going to try and give a more unbiased answer and then i realized the question is asking My favorites so i am being. biased.
it's really just rotation and his whole arc. i loved his character, the path his story ended up taking, and getting to play the role i did in that tale. i was really happy with where it ended, and where we ended decayed!venus's part in it all. i think rotation had one of the most authentically human stories in decayed from start to finish. it'll always mean a lot to me.
another favorite part of decayed as an experience, outside of the series, was definitely just the hours spent hanging out with snowbird and pleir as we worked though. i love those two to piecessss. that's something i do miss frequently, even if i don't miss the associated workload LOL.

Is there anyone else that has a content creator persona or is it just saps that you noticed (like gray stella, thomas)? If so, is it jarring when you see your friends do it?
i think everyone has one to some extent. all of us (myself included) amplify elements of our personality for content, because it just. makes for better content. some people's are like significantly more pronounced than others, like saps and gray. a lot of people are mainly just Louder for content lmao, like stella and rotation. some people feel very much the same, like snowbird and gotoga. thomas is pretty similar too but just like turns up the entertainment value.
idk if jarring is the right word. maybe earlier on when people were newer to streaming? sometimes it feels a little odd, especially when i mentally compare hanging out on stream to hanging out off stream. but by now it's very familiar, so i wouldn't say it's jarring. just an element of our friendships that differs from friendships with non-ccs.
Hello! I love your and Hvyrotation rp so much when I reacted first time s6 in DaD like yo! His pov he saw a ghost (I will call like that sorry ;_;) in the machine when he saw first dead and he saw you as a ghost I was like "wow that crazy! I didn't know that!" lol because I watch Jawhn and Zora pov and I didn't find his vod at first until I watch his pov.
And I have some questions for you
1) As you a staff in DaD. What percentage chance of success do you think DaD RP has?
2) What are your favorites RP fail in DaD?
Thankyou ❤️
hi aww thank you so much!!
hmm i'm not entirely sure how to answer this. i think most of the roleplay in decayed was, by whatever metric you might want to use, successful. impactful, well-acted, numerically successful. each of the creators cared so much about their characters and stories, and i think that really showed throughout the series.
my favorite rp fail is probably when grayleigh spontaneously exploded. i've explained how that happened on stream a couple of times, but basically, we had to change the parameters of her infection to allow for a smooth transformation to a zombie model, and one of the other estaff was doing that then. however, they forgot about a bug where if commands were run in the wrong order, a person would literally just die. a similar thing happened to princezam in an earlier session. so gray ended up just dying out of nowhere in front of a crowd, and people thought it was legitimate and started grieving before i had to show up in chat to tell them otherwise. it's such a funny clip to look back on LOL.
Sorry if you've answered this before but how did you fir met thomas, saps, flux, etc. And what was your first impression of them?
i haven't answered this yet dw! i love telling this story anyways lmaoo. this might surprise people but i actually haven't known the group that long - i met everyone around nov 2025 thru jan 2026. so relatively recently, and not long before decayed at all!
so i was like completely uninvolved with minecraft for yearsss, until i watched ish's 2.5 video in august and i was like Yo this is sick. how do i do this. then i forgot about it for a little while, until funnily enough an irl friend of mine got into 2.7 and told me about it. that same irl later told me to apply to a diff event, Progeny.
if you don't know what progeny is, it's a roleplay civ event. the third iteration ran in nov 2025, and it was my first ever event! flux's char was the leader of the nation i joined, aeren, but i didn't interact with him a lot. however, i met rotation (and pleir!) in the discord server for that nation, which is how we became friends.
i ended up properly meeting and befriending everyone because of rotation. i encouraged him to start streaming, and he had pleir and i as guests on his second ever stream, a (horribly flunked) speedrun. his third stream was also a speedrun, but with flux and thomas too. that was my first time EVER meeting thomas, and my first proper vc with flux. thomas read out the entire end poem and we popcorn read the last lines together. my first impressions for both of them were that they were really chill, and i wanted to hang out with them more.
i don't really remember the first time i met saps. it was probably some vc in january. i talked to saps more leading up to midoffs s3, cause he'd join vc while practicing speedrunning for hours. i remember thinking he was funny - saps is kinda different off stream, he has a distinct content creator persona, but lowk i vibed with off stream saps more lmfao.
i met snowbird a bit after thomas/flux, but we properly became friends while working on decayed with pleir, which was a really intense but fun bonding experience. creating the pre-decayed arg was like the foundation of our friendship. i think i met gotoga during an mcci lobby, and he was soooo chill i liked him a lot from the get-go. micro i thought was funny, gray i thought was fun and energetic - met those two, and others, in mcci/cytooxien lobbies too. my first convo with ish was a big joke argument that was really dumb LOL. idk i had really positive first impressions for everyone, and i'm superrr grateful i became closer with them all - and met so many of them at vidcon!!
what are some of your favourite places you’ve travelled to?
oohhhh i love this question. this will be a LOOONG answer. i grew up traveling a ton because of my parents' jobs, being an immigrant, and extended family living elsewhere, plus i moved around a lot as a kid. so i've been to more countries than years i've been alive, to most US states, etc. thus it's hard for me to choose favorites buuut i have some.
i've been to several western european countries and i think my favorites were ireland and italy. ireland was just really... homey? i don't know how to explain it, but i felt comfortable there, and everyone i met was so kind. i made a lot of sweet memories. also, the nature is beautiful - went to national parks and like the cliffs of moher, so stunning. italy is italy, i was in the northwest when i went and it was gorgeoussss. cinque terre is the definition of picturesque. also, random anecdote: italy has a high bangladeshi population, so funnily enough i got to speak a lot of bangla while there.
i went to barbados a few times as a kid. haven't been back in many years but it has a very special place in my heart. the history and culture are fascinating and tragic and beautiful.
my favorite place in west asia that i've been to is doha, in the late 2010s. the whole region is very complicated, but i felt the culture and soul of doha strongly when i was younger, especially in certain areas. my mom's childhood friend showed us around and i loved it. i love arabic, i took lessons for years as a kid, though i haven't retained much. such a magical language.
also an asian country i visited in the late 2010s, singapore! beautiful city. it's the only place i've been in southeast asia, so i'd love to see more of the region someday.
traveling internationally on my own is a lot for a college student in the midwest though. so to curb the travel itch nowadays, i go to nyc and california SO often - like 3 or 4 times EACH in the last year alone. oftentimes the trips are partially or fully paid for because they're for Obligations, which helps. i love new york cityyyyy it's a home away from home and i have a ton of friends there. i love jackson heights and greenwich village. i'm less deeply attached to the bay area or LA, but i go to both frequently, mostly for friends, and the frequency of visits has definitely provided me sentimentality for each. and california's nature is almost unbeatable in the US.
my other favorite place in north america is the pacific northwest overall - i love the pnw SO much (and did live there for a bit). adjacently, the national parks of alberta are unfathomably breathtaking.
okay i'll stop myself there but yeah i love love loveeee traveling and i hope to be able to sustainably travel a ton someday. i think my exposure to so many places, cultures, and ways of life as a kid were a huge shaping factor for me as a person, and i want to spend the rest of my life experiencing and learning as much about the vast diversity of the world as i can. thee's too much out there!!

if you were to cast a live action adaptation of decayed, who would you pick to play who? (both silly and serious answers highly encouraged)
THIS IS SO HARD oh god ummmmm umm. timothee chalamet as saparata and sadie sink as stellareyn boom done. kidding (mostly (actually there's sort of a vision with sadie as stella (idk))). i honestly don't know enough actors for this LOL i haven't kept up with the film industry in like a year and now i've forgotten everyone who exists ever.
can we just have ish play himself with cgi to make him look older i think that'd be funny. honestly let's just throw a lot of the face revealed people in to play themselves, go my spidey and gray and thomas! i believe in you guys!
asked rotation this the other day, but if you were a bug what bug would you be?? you remind me of jewel beetles :>
*tumblr keeps saying it glitches when i try to send this ask if you've gotten it like three times i am so sorry.
wait jewel beetles are so pretty i love that ty!!! hmm i mentioned in another post that i really like moths so those are an option. i too am nocturnal and drawn to beautiful lights. besides that i'm not sure. i like your classification of me a lot!!
hi mai!! hmmm. i love 💫 but that's stella's. i think a lot of different vaguely spacey emojis could work. rotation suggested ✨ or 🌌 which are both cute.
honestly 🪐 might just work best. venus may not have rings but that just makes it ironic. it's a nice emoji either way, and yk, a planet is a planet!
what did you think of meagon’s character in decayed and decrepit? i love her sm and want more opinions lol
meagon my goat!! interesting but difficult question to answer. meagon's character is a really interesting one - i wish she had more opportunity to expand upon her background and internal motivations during the event, because i feel that there were more potential layers of complexity that weren't explicitly alluded to. i really liked the role she played in the quad. to me it felt that she was the anchor, the rock of the group; she was at their center, and a constant to the very end. her protectiveness and tremendous care for the others was beautiful and acted out SO well. parallel to that, her personal moral code and motivations were intriguing, especially in relation to her backstory. i would love to learn more about it all tbh.
her personality was also absolutely riotous at times. that one meagon and rotation clip on the hostel roof is the funniest shit ever iykyk, as well as their broadcast from lower facility.
i like to think that meagon, rotation, and nobody stuck together after the events of the series. i mean, it's what rotation himself says. but in the context of meagon, idk her character gives me the impression of one who has long lacked lasting relationships, and i don't think you go through what they did without forming some kind of immense bond. it's like. precious. </3

hihi venus! i really wanted to know what type of story genres you’re into/prefer :3
HIII oh goodness i could give a lot of answers to this.
i like. i read a LOT, have since forever. like since i learned english. that is to say, i have/will read basically anything, so picking favorites is kinda hard.
hmm. i love speculative fiction, both sci-fi and fantasy. i highlyyyy recommend ted chiang's sci-fi short stories, SO good, i read them after reading "Story of Your Life" (which is the short story that inspired the movie Arrival, a favorite of mine). i read the three-body problem by liu cixin (translated to english, unfortunately i do not read mandarin) a while ago and it was really interesting hard sci-fi. have not seen the show though. oh i'd die for the right YA fantasy i can't hold you. six of crows is an all-time favorite UGHH i love inej ghafa so much. historical fantasy is a specific genre i'm a big fan of. babel by r.f. kuang and song of the huntress by lucy holland are two faves.
i was a 2010s dystopian kid and i still have a deep fondness in my heart for those series. the hunger games is an incredible story in so many ways - i was lucy gray baird for halloween last year. i have an eternal attachment to the characters of the maze runner. that being said, i'm sorry i'm a divergent hater forever i never liked that series.
i am a classics lover as well, both historical and modern. my top 2 are probably wuthering heights and the picture of dorian gray. i've enjoyed every brontë that i've read, and i'm honestly ashamed that i haven't read all of them - i want to read the tenant of wildfell hall next, since i haven't read any of anne's. been meaning to read the brontë poems for a while too. such fascinating literary history. austen, alcott, tartt, vonnegut, dickens, plath, woolf, etc., all so interesting. and STEINBECK agh i loved east of eden. unfortunately i don't really like hemingway, the prose is too bare for my taste. i somehow have not read any dostoevsky or tolstoy yet and i need to get on that. khaled hosseini is veryyy contemporary but god SO good and so heartbreaking.
and uhh jeez this has gotten long but this wouldn't be complete without mentioning poetry. ocean vuong, mary oliver, kaveh akbar, danez smith, li-young lee, kahlil gibran. dante, homer, whitman, poe, dickinson, frost, angelou. so many incredible works. last week i bought Gold, a translated collection of poems by the 13th century sufi poet rumi, and i'm very excited to read it.
anyways uhh i like. a lot of stuff. beyond these i quite like horror, mystery, historical fiction, and contemporary litfic. but yeah i'll read anything! if anyone has recs i'd love to hear them.
are you into pokémon, and if so, whatʼs your favorite generation?
unfortunately i am not really... i've actually learned most of what i know about pokemon over the last few months from hearing/reading conversations about it, since like the whole conspiracy is into it to some extent. so i don't have a favorite generation sadly. i'd be down to get more into it tbh i was just never really exposed
hi venus! would you possibly be able to give any elaboration on the line "you wish to hold the hand of the machine" from the signs along the upper facility catwalk?
i've always been sooo fascinated by that sign in particular. it has always really stuck out to me as something so eerie and i kind of love the way those signs were never really addressed in-lore (unless i'm missing something) but i'm also still so curious about it. as a crazed quad enjoyer that whole catwalk area leading down to atropos is something i think about very often and that series of hanging signs suspended in air (as well as everything else down there basically floating) gives the area such a uniquely uncanny feeling. like you can immediately tell something is very very wrong from the moment you enter down into that space. i feel like it's the only place in decayed that really breaks the laws of "reality" like this and its just so so cool to me. i really think it was so genius to kinda foreshadow the inherent wrongness of a machine that can essentially reverse death by placing it in an area like upper, where you can visually see the previously pretty grounded world of decayed start to bend and warp more into the realm of de-reality with everything suspended over this seemingly endless black void.
were those signs left by one of the researchers involved w/ 4C or maybe ish? does the text itself have any in-universe significance at all? im so so freaking curious, if you're willing to tell us... 👀
(i know there’s another sign on the way down that also reads “i know what you seek” and i think those two are the only ones that have text on them? i'm not totally 100% sure but regardless i would love to know more! sorry for the massive wall of text 😭)
never apologize for the text wall, i was actually so excited when i saw this ask. it's genuinely so cool when decayed fans look deep into the details of the map and lore, so neverrrr feel bad about being curious.
i believe you're right and those are the only two signs with text - unfortunately, i was not the one who wrote them (nor was pleir), so they don't have intentional deeper lore significance. that being said, that doesn't mean that the signs don't mean anything, nor that you can't extrapolate them to analyze (or headcanon!) in the broader lore.
my personal read: "you wish to hold the hand of the machine" reminds me of the desperate circumstances that let to the creation of atropos. those who made atropos feared death, feared failure, feared the consequences of their own actions. they built it, despite every warning sign, because they sought to cling to life, even if it were at the cost of someone else. to hold the machine's hand would be to hold onto life - to seek reassurance from cold metal that cannot provide it, from a fabricator of the undead. for anyone, roghost or otherwise, the machine is a source of the most selfish kind of hope. at the end of the world, many would cling onto that. perhaps most.
oh god hard question i love so many. i am a cat person surprising no one, i have two cats and i love them. i really like birds, especially birds of prey. the golden eagle is maybe my favorite, the himalayan golden eagle in particular. marine life in general is sooo so fascinating to me, i LOVE WHALES they're so magical. i've ranted to rotation about whales more than once.
my favorite bug is (basic but still) the madagascan sunset moth. they're sooo pretty bro. storytime. one time back in march pili asked us our favorite bugs, and when i said that, both him and pleir were like I KNEW YOU'D SAY A MOTH so like i got clocked. flux on the other hand said he hates me and hates moths. fuck him.

I ’d like to ask how u would describe yourself in terms of your personality and working style (。ì _ í。)
hi!! that is a wonderful question that i'm not entirely sure how to answer. i feel like describing one's own personality is a daunting endeavor. i'm very very extroverted, that's an easy one to define. i love talking to people and dissecting their characters and it gets me into funny situations sometimes.
my working style is honestly a bit dependent on the type of work. i can Certainly be a procrastinator a lot of the time, but it depends. i do work especially well under pressure LOL. i like having flexibility to implement original ideas. i love collaboration but i can be kinda picky with who i’ll want to work with lmao. but yeah the way i approach something like writing will be very different from like programming or math or photography.
hey is it canon that in DaD mike and grayleigh liked each other?
wellllll considering that i'm not micro or gray, i can't confirm anything that isn't clear in canon... but if you've read the one note that mike wrote and rotation found (which you can find on the decayed fan wiki, shoutout), i think it's pretty explicit about how mike feels about grayleigh.
