Mike used a different voice for Will (the "Will voice")

Mike was always the first one to find Will when he was having an episode, and got him out of most of them

Will named a bunch of people making him feel different and left out Mike

Mike pushed Dustin's hand away so he was the only one helping Will

Mike said he was going to take Will home and took him to his own house

Will asked Mike not to tell the others since they wouldn't understand

Will said "Crazy together" making it the first parallel to the original

Mike stayed with the Byers for multiple days so he could be there for Will (while the others had no clue where they were)

Mike held Will's hand, comforted him, and made him feel better about his connection to the hive-mind

Mike slept next to Will's bed, paralleling the s1 Jancy scene

Will felt like he was burning alive and called for Mike instead of his mom

Mike and Joyce were the only people Will remembered

Hopper was carrying Will and Mike was running behind him reaching for Will

Mike said that becoming Will's friend was the best thing he ever did (while crying)

Mike's monologue was the one that allowed Will to break out enough to communicate with them (using the hand Mike had previously held)

Mike encouraged Will to dance with the girl and then paralleled Dustin looking at lumax

Mike was always the first, if not only, to notice when he got the feeling

Mike and Will basically went on double movie dates with lumax all summer

Mike was looking at Will instead of the movie

Mike looked at Will's lips and Will did the same

Will told Joyce he wasn't going to fall in love

Both Lucas and Mike messed up, but Mike was the one that went after Will

Mike said "It's not my fault you don't like girls" when all Will was talking about was how Mike was screwing up the party dynamic (talking prior about how Mike didn't know where Dustin was)

Lucas had to coach Mike through apologizing to El, but Mike took the initiative to apologize to Will

Max said Mike was going to come crawling back to El the same episode that Mike dragged Lucas out in a thunderstorm to apologize, calling himself an asshole, then searching in the woods when Will didn't answer the door

Mike and El broke up and he stopped being an ass to Will

Mike was caught staring at Will like 700 times

They locked eyes and Mike looked down at Will's lips when they're 10 seconds away from being murdered

Will said it "wasn't possible" to join another party and Mike had the biggest smile on his face

Mike was gripping Will's shirt when they were hugging

Hopper's speech about being scared of change and wishing things could go back to how they were, was overlayed on top of scenes of Mike and Will

Mike went home and hugged his mom with "Heroes" playing, paralleling s1

s4

Mike crumples up his letters from El, but keeps Will's drawings on his walls and has a binder full of them

Mike gave Will the most awkward hug in the history of the universe and then asked about the painting before anything else

Mike didn't notice his girlfriend was getting bullied, but immediately noticed when Will got up and said "oh no"

Mike paused mid (mild) argument to stare at Will's lips for a sec

They had like 700 "shared looks"

Mike got upset at Will for El lying because they don't lie to eachother

Mike said Will ruined the day because Will didn't pay enough attention to him

Will confronted Mike about the lack of communication and Mike got defensive and felt the need to clarify to Will that they weren't dating (Lucas and Dustin have kept in contact with Will, so why is it different for you, Mike?) (you also tried calling him a bunch, so why not say that?)

The original script said "We're friends, Will. Friends." (paralleling jancy, lumax, and jopper)

Mike chose to stand with Will instead if his girlfriend that just got horrifically bullied

They're all upset on the drive home and Mike gets a close up shot of him looking at Will

Will told Mike to stop worrying about the letter from El and Mike threw it away (whipped much?)

Will said "Looks like it's going to be up to us again, isn't it" and Mike gives him the biggest grin (and they get interrupted by Jonathan)

The interruption trope was used on them like five times

The jacket Mike wore for most of the season had a triangle that was almost always pointing at Will (and the costume designer saying they added in triangles to Robin's shirt as an easter egg and Finn saying his jacket was custom made)

Mike bit his lip and checked out Will when he sat down on the bed

They said "Thanks, by the way" "For knocking some sense into me, I mean I was being a total self-pitying idiot" (Max saying "he's probably wallowing in self-pity right now" after the breakup)

They said "I didn't say it" "You didn't have to"

Mike effectively owned up to and apologized for their fight

Mike said "It's Hawkins, it's not the same without you"

Mike said "Maybe I feel like I lost you or something" (paralleling s4 lumax and jopper)

Mike said "I think it'll be easier if we're a team. Friends. Best friends." (paralleling jopper's "I think we make a pretty good team" from s3)

They said "Cool." "Cool."

Mike was flirting for the entire scene

Mike threw himself over Will when they were being shot at

They were burying a body and Mike triple took at Will

Will said "It's hard to open up and say how you really feel. Especially to the people you care about" and Mike nodded

The car scene paralleled s2 jancy

Mike was shot with a yellow toy arrow

Will suggested they rob a casino so they could just play games forever and Mike smiled and agreed

Will is constantly bathed in light from Mike's POV

Will showed Mike the painting and he looked super happy until Will said El commissioned it

Will said "You make [me] feel like [I'm] not a mistake at all, like [I'm] better for being different. And that gives [me] the courage to fight on." (and seeing this play out in s5)

Mike looked at Will's lips AGAIN during the van speech

Mike triple took at Will AGAIN after rescuing El (paralleling rockie in the same episode)

They had three "shared looks" when El was in the bath

Mike was only able to say he loved El after Will's encouragement and under false pretenses

They said "We have to kill him." "And we will. We will." (paralleling s1 jancy and s2 jopper)

Mike grabbed Will's shoulder to reassure him after avoiding physical contact all season (and more interruption trope)

They were framed between two canon couples in the last shot of s4

s5 - vol 1

Will lived in Mike's basement for eighteen months

Mike waited hoping Will was going to put his hand down first (and Lucas looking between them)

Will had an episode and Mike the first to notice and was the furthest away from him but got to him first

Mike grabbed Will's shoulder three times in one scene

Lucas put his hand on Will's arm and Mike gave Lucas a look and Lucas pulled his hand away

Mike said "I highly doubt his long-term goal is friendship" and then he looked at and the camera cut to Will

Will asks Robin "to date?" instead of Robin's assumed "makout?" and all mileven ever did was kiss

Will asking Robin how to know if someone likes you and all the signal examples Robin gives have been observed from Mike

Robin saying it snowballs until the avalanche (I think 4.5 seasons is enough to create an avalanche)

Robin said "I like dick" and Mike and Will looked at each other (there's like four "shared looks" in this scene)

Joyce said sometimes you just need someone to believe in you and that being exactly what Mike is doing for Will two seconds later

Mike encouraged Will saying that he might have more power than he realizes (massive forshadowing)

Will playfully shoved Mike and Mike is grinning like usual (and definitely panicking a bit since Will never initiates physical contact)

They spent the whole field scene flirting

Robin immediately clocked them (and paralleled Steve looking at rockie in the s4 finale)

Robin gave her speech about the importance of self-acceptance

Robin/Tammy paralleled Mike/El (idolization, dialogue similarities, etc.)

Mike told Will to take off his jacket to stop the leak and barely used it

Mike's hands were entirely covering Will's when trying to fix the leak, even when Will's hands moved

The bathroom scene had so much symbolism that it would take too long to explain

Will collapsed and Mike tried to break away from the guard screaming Will's name

Mike grabbed Will's waist to pick him up

Will saw that Mike was going to die and he chose to accept himself fully, allowing him to unlock his powers

Mike asking to be his friend was the first scene of the acceptance tape

Will and Mike's love helped empower Will, saving everyone

Mike looked at Will with such admiration and pride

Them looking at each other is the cliffhanger for the volume

The avalanche is coming soon because that's a lot of snowballing
