This is probably a long shit but do you have the Jared padelecki Facebook reply where someone says they donβt like him and heβs like this hurts my feelings?
I got you.
the thing that drives me up the wall about βanti/proshipβ discourse is that it frames grooming as like, primarily an ideological practice in which the threat is that kids will βthink adult/minor relationships are morally okβ. which sure maybe that happens idfk but the thing is that grooming is in practical almost entirely divorced from ideology and is so much more about individual exceptionalismβ¦ which I think is especially true for fandom-aged demographics! these arenβt kids who are just freshly learning the basics of right and wrong, most of them probably already generally know what pedophilia is and think itβs bad, itβs just that theyβre also particularly susceptible to individualized attention that makes them feel uniquely special and mature.
like. I donβt know. itβs just incredibly frustrating to see people continually talking about CSA like it only happens because the perpetrators and victims believe pedophilia is morally permissible rather than because they think that their own personal circumstances exonerate them and make it uniquely acceptable and not harmful.
it is overwhelmingly my experience that kids and teens who met and then βdatedβ adult partners struggle to think of themselves as victims of CSA because for whatever reason it just didnβt countβnot when it was them. they were too precocious, they had too much agency, their abuser didnβt mean any harm, and what would have been a terrible criminal travesty if it had happened to anyone else was just a weird but understandable fluke situation that they brought upon themselves.
sort of relatedβlots of kids do not actually see themselves as children. a child who sees themself as mature, different, and sensitive to condescension is not going to Identify As A Childβ’οΈ and will hold themself to (what they think is) an adult standard. any effort to protect them that relies upon their seeing themself as A Childβ’οΈ and accepting their status as a being of lesser agency is doomed to fail. and I think thatβs true whether theyβre punished or rewarded for their apparent maturity because any kid who perceives being a child as a bad thing isβ¦ well. theyβre right. to be a child is to be a second-class citizen with very limited rights who is, functionally, private property. any child who becomes consciously aware of this will be traumatized by it and I donβt think that Good Parenting will ever fully prevent that. so of course theyβre not going to conceptualize themselves as victims of CSA because CSA can, by definition, only happen to real children.
Man at my job just told me to βhold your little horsies just a little longer βΊοΈβ about the task Iβve been waiting for him to complete or at the very least update me on for six weeks. Brendan, I will fuck your adult son. Youβre gonna start seeing me at family Christmas. Horsies in tow.
Functionally, there's very little difference between watching a movie on poob and watching a movie on basic cable. Yet, for some reason, the advertisements on poob offend me far more
ad breaks on poob always interrupt important scenes or make really jarring cuts.
when it's on cable, they've timed the commercial breaks in a way that generally isn't as disruptive. someone took the time to "reformat" the movie for tv.
ads on poob always KNOW that they're on poob and want me to interact with them or click them. the number of QR codes or ads-in-separate-ad-framing/window are infuriating and jarring.
cable commercials are just stupid little skits i can mute to go use the bathroom.
ads on poob are less than 2 minutes--not enough time to do anything, but enough time to piss me off.
cable commercials are 2-5 minutes, which is enough time to go do something/bathroom or snack break, or talk to whoever you're watching with.
ads on poob are the same 3-4 commercials over and over and over and over again, often cutting to them immediately with no warning, and poob struggles to like, catch up to the fact that it's having to show a different progress bar, or a different timer.
cable commercials, esp during primetime, generally cycle through like 10-15 minimum, so you can go an ad break or two without seeing the same commercial. and they usually only pop up during quiet moments, at regular intervals, so you can see them coming--and there isn't a weird lag/loading time.
in both cases i am being accosted by advertisements and treated like a consumer to manipulate and exploit. the volume changes on cable and poob, the brightness level is eye-searing in both cases.
but poob doesn't respect that i'm here for the MOVIE. cable, thanks to preexisting, decades-old norms around broadcast television, still kind of does. kind of. it's easier to ignore those commercials than the ones on poob.
basically i think poob follows ad norms established on the internet--pop-ups, invasive flashing bullshit, creating lag, taking up time and attention--and cable follows established cable norms of, "time for a few minutes of ads that are just stupid little skits instead of spam machines, and then back to your otherwise uninterrupted movie."
Yeah honestly that all tracks.
#you are doing some goncharov shit to me
I mean i know what you're saying, but there's about a dozen free ad-supported streaming services and i respect none of them to use any of their names. Meanwhile, Poob has fully entered the tumblr lexicon as a shorthand for stupidly-named tech products, especially streaming services.
#we arent doing goncharov shit to you we're doing glup shitto shit to you

Somthing that I think is honestly really funny , is how the brim cap SOLD the book to Coco.
Like not only was he setting this kid up for the horrors , but he also took her fucking money ???
Like Why ?????
Flew into a blind rage and made this after reading this post.
[ID: A Witch Hat Atelier collage with bright red arrows and all-caps font, plus red doodles of strawberries. Young Coco is shown dressed with a flower crown on the first time she met Iguin and witnessed magic, and she's labeled "They took her fucking strawberry money". Circles point out the words "money" and "baked strawberries" as Coco's mother says, "I gave you the money because you said you wanted to eat baked strawberries..." and Coco exclaims, "But it's so cool! It's a magic picture book!" There's also the caption "This is an iguin hate post" beside a panel of Iguin asking, "You there, why not buy a magic book?" and a meme of someone saying, "I, Pissard, did not take you completely seriously." End ID]
itβs amazing how women are able to navigate crowded rooms without ever touching a palm to a manβs lower back
you'd think occasionally men would need to touch other men like this to manoeuvre them out of the way but it never happens
shaving isnβt even like remotely close to the biggest issue feminism needs to tackle but itβs just astonishing to me how the most lukewarm bare minimum of normalizing natural body hair on women is met with such pushback from βprogressivesβ on here. like thatβs why i keep bringing it up. like if you fucks canβt get behind βwomen shouldnβt feel like they have to shave and shouldnβt be groomed into shavingβ then what the hell can you be counted on for? nothing, clearly
What a lovely little post you have here! *Drinks up its wordjuice to add it to my lexicon like some form of Vernacula*
*Sinks my teeth into your vocabillaries*

Have you ever had a tattoo or piercing done by someone who was not a professional? For example, an at home stick-and-poke tattoo or sewing needle piercing
Yes, piercing(s)
Yes, tattoo(s)
Yes, both
No
idk i think you should make this character's heterosexuality relevant to the narrative. i mean why are they cis if it's not servicing the plot. you can't just throw story elements in for no reason if you're gonna make an able bodied character it should really serve a purpose. like why are they white are you just trying to fill a checklist? :/

Spirit Animal is racist.
Patronus was invented by a transphobe.
I think itβs time we all suck it up and say what we mean: fursona.
I know this is a jokey post (rip OPs notes) but a fursona is typically an animal REPRESENTATION of YOURSELF, not an external animal that is strongly meaningful to you and your life/journey.
I've seen daemon and familiar proposed, but to keep in line with the cursedness of the original post, may I suggest: spiritual tamagotchi
do you have any idea how refreshing it is to see a correction/suggestion to this post that actually understands the assignment
challenging all white women to put in even half the effort they spend on fearmongering to other white women about parking lot abductions to instead support MMIWG initiatives if they want to actually make a difference in protecting women

i always feel like im running out of time but i dont know what for
On of the less intuitive things about love, I've found, of any kind, is the importance of needing things.
I didn't realize it until recently, but I've always seen love as something requiring sacrifice, selflessness, patience, and generosity- to ask for nothing is to be the best person I can be, small and quiet and never in the way, always happy and helpful, self-sufficient and present when desired.
It's only as an adult, now, that I'm beginning to see the selfishness of wanting nothing.
I cut my friend's hair in my kitchen the other day. They wanted a trim and I had the skills, so I offered, and was genuinely excited when they stopped hesitating over "bothering me" and took me up on it. It was a peaceful afternoon, and we had tea and chatted for an hour or more.
My brother and I shared popcorn at the movies a while ago. When I came time to pay, I pulled my card out like a wild western sheriff and slapped it on the machine before he could fight me for it first. The satisfaction was delightful.
Someone called me crying on the phone the other day. Kept apologizing for disturbing me at work, talking about how they were bothering me on my lunch break. I was telling the truth when I told them that really, I was flattered and honored and relieved, knowing that if they were hurting I would know, that I didn't have to worry in silence. It felt good to hear them slowly come down, and to know that they knew it would be better soon, and to hear them laugh wetly on the other end. We're getting together for a visit next week.
It's hard to need things, if you've trained yourself not to. It's hard to want things, when you don't know how to want anymore. Trusting people is difficult, and so is relying on them, but I don't know where I'd be without the people who rely on me.
I've heard a lot of people say, "Nobody will love you unless you love yourself". I've had a lot of thoughts about it. It's not right, but it's not wrong, either, I think.
"Nobody will love you unless you love yourself"... I've always taken that to mean, "You will not be lovable until you develop a positive view of yourself as a person".
Now, I think it's sort of inside-out.
"Nobody will love you unless you love yourself"... because nobody can show their love to you in a way that you can accept until you treat yourself kindly, and learn what you need, and what you want, and how to ask for it, and then give that vulnerability away.
Love, for me, is someone I ask for a ride to the airport. Whether they end up doing this or not is irrelevant.
It's not needy, or selfish, or taking up energy. It's giving the gift of being wanted, and needed, and thought of. It's giving someone the security of being part of someone's life.
