Really really really really really stupid nerd pet peeve I have is I can't stand it when people deploy the "lol and then they reboot it all anyway!" stock normie comic book clapback on posts about superhero comics in general/Marvel. ONLY THE BATMAN COMPANY DOES THAT.
"Okay well that citation is so old it's not like that matters anymore." My panel from 1960 is still canon. I'll eat you.
i love the way marvel does retcons. they change their mind about something and just 'reveal' on panel that it was always like that, actually. no matter how implausible and bullshit and incompatible with previously established content it is, they just put it out there and dare you to complain.
current reigning favorite is how they brought ultimate/film nick fury, as based on samuel l jackson, into the main continuity. by having the two nicks fury go to a park together and Black Nick Fury calls Silver Temples Nick Fury 'dad.'
bam, continuity fixed. fury had an aspecifically-estranged son named after himself with also one eye who followed closely in his professional footsteps this entire time. we just never met him, until we did. wasn't relevant to any superheroes' stories.
