in comparison i wrote a rookie leon who was a clone draw from his experience of regaining control of his weak body after his cryogenic sleep and gaining strength so he becomes interested in physiotherapy especially pediatric physiotherapy because it gives hope and strength to children that need it the most and he wants to be the source that feeds that strength in others.

i love Cleon because Leon and Claire share an everlasting bond, "trusted companion" as capcom puts it sums it up well. both Claire and Leon share similar tastes what with rock music & motorbikes which is why i like to pair claire the most with vendetta Leon. there's also good angst with how infinite darkness conflict rose between them.

i like Valeveira because while Jill is headstrong and tough, Carlos is sweet and easygoing. they both protected each other and both cared about the same end goal and it helps that Carlos clearly is heads over heels for Jill who is older than him and cooler than him and she warms up to Carlos the more she gets to know him so i cant help but believe she thinks he's a little cute. Also i love to imagine Jill losing her shit raging about something while Carlos struggles to hold her back from beating up everyone and anyone in her way.

i love Serrawong because both Luis and Ada know what its like to work for the bad guys and do a horrible thing, the difference between them is that Luis had the courage to change and make amends and had he lived i believe 100% he could've helped Ada take her own step towards redemption. they are both crafty in their own way, Luis is knowledgable in biology and medicine and Ada is excellent at infiltration missions and gathering info. Luis has a honeyed tongue which got him out of sticky situations multiple times while Ada is less of talk more of shoot you in the balls type of person so together they balance out whats needed to accomplish their goal. Luis is flirty and jokey, Ada is serious and quiet. When Luis lost hope after they burnt his castle lab and was spiraling into grief Ada pulled him out of his spiral and calmed him down in her tough love way, the two just have so much potential to balance out each other and develop as characters while having a deep understanding of sharing the same situation and worldview.

i like Shake because Jake acts like an angsty kid and Sherry basically calls him out on his bs and own up to his own mistakes. i love how protective Jake is of Sherry even though he knows she can heal he still doesnt want her to feel pain. personally, i think Sherry is waaaaay above Jake's league and he secretly knows that so whenever she does express a tiny wee bit of affection his mind turns into mush and he'd kill the entire world for her if she wanted. jokes aside though, they both have seen each other at their worst and they both comforted each other when one of them was down. their story begins with mutual doubt & suspicion but it ends with a strong bond that shaped their personalities going forward. Sherry is pretty much Jake's beautiful angel while he's just some guy. they both lived lonely childhoods, both abandoned by their parents and both found comfort in each other.

and you can't not root for Mithan atleast during re7 because Ethan Winters is a man that went above and beyond to save his beloved wife and Mia regretted working for the connections and lying to Ethan about it, makes me just imagine how she fell in love with Ethan and wanted to tell him everyday but couldn't because she was afraid of losing him but Ethan proved her wrong to have not trusted him from the start. they find forgiveness and build a new life together with chris's help. i still dislike that Mia kept the truth away from Ethan but my boy Ethan could've truly lived happy had he not died before.

i think Jilleon is cute in re2r/re3r setting because i absolutely believe Leon would've had a huge crush on Jill and because he and Jill have pretty similar personalities and core values and goals so working towards them together is just making the dream team come true.

and lastly, one-sided Aeon in which Ada is the one who pines after Leon but eventually learns to let him go is my bittersweet angst dose.

then the events occur as in re2r canon and she did mean for it to be their final goodbye because how else could she show herself to him again if she had any shame ? and yet the way he held her hand made her feel like his heart is big enough to forgive her.

so then the years pass and she forgets about Leon, she turns colder and more numb everyday because she's stuck dealing with scums of the earth and murderers and she likes to tell herself that she's an impartial party who just does whats needed whether its by the clear bad guys or the corrupt governments pretending to be the good guys.

then re4r happens and this time she interacts with Leon not because she needs to use him like in re2r but because in the moment she let go of his hand years ago she felt she owed him to at least show him she's alive and because of her soft spot for him she wouldnt want to stand by and watch him die if she had a say in it because maybe she's given up hope but that doesnt mean Leon needs to lose his hope too, which is why when he says he's changed she reminds him that he didn't and he was still the same bleeding heart who wanted to protect the innocent and risked his life to fight injustice.

the more she meets him in re4r the more she gains a little irrational hope that maybe he'll keep her company and share with her the lonely world she is in, to her Leon is unique and like no other so she can't help but be drawn to him.

nevertheless, Leon makes it clear he can't join her in her act, he can't look the other way and pretend his actions don't mean anything, he can never settle to the idea that there's no hope and nothing can be done to fight the darkness in the world like how she believes. it doesnt matter if he has an affection for her or feel indebted, he stays true to who he is and she stays true to who she is so they can never see eye to eye.

and to continue her character arc is for her to make a stand and change her way of life, she can't keep lying to herself, she has to stop pretending to be neutral and take a real stance, make amends and acknowledge her past mistakes.

only then would she find happiness and from there she can finally let go of Leon and move on. because personally the way i read their characters is that there's no way their conflicting morals would ever allow them to be anything but toxic to each other. its bittersweet but also satisfying to see her progress from a cold mercenary to someone who genuinely has compassion not for one person but because she reclaimed what made her human and not just a cog in the machine. thats the kind of Ada i want to make a comeback, the one who finally wakes up and realises she can break away from her loneliness and the circle of violence, the one who reclaims her humanity and lets herself get attached and feel emotions again.

i want that Ada, not the Ada we got in re6 which was just flirty and shallow and still selfish after everything that happened to her she feels like such a setback.

i imagine when she's kidnapped by krauser rookie Leon shows up to her and she asks him why he looks so sad ? and rookie Leon actually answers her and he asks her if she can really help Leon. Ashley laughs self-deprecatingly because she feels like Leon is always the one helping her and rookie Leon tells her its not true and he can see Leon reclaiming his humanity when he's with her, he tells her if her feelings are genuine then Leon needs her.
