Spoilers for Ligia's arc in Sovereign Tower

There is something deeply beautiful in the way Ligia's entire character tackles anti-blackness within the realm of fantasy, without being blunt or unsavory at all.

Her skin's riddled with beautiful multicolor scales that the rest of the counties would consider, for some reason, a perfect pretext to discriminate against her.

When we get close to Ligia, and she reveals her skin to the Sovereign as a show of trust, equality, and love, the first thing the Sovereign does is say her skin is beautiful.

It's so simple. So short. But very effective.

The fact that it is our black lady who experiences this is so significant. The obvious reality they have to live with becomes a symbolic plot point that highlights beauty, elegance, and tender trust.

I love Ligia so bad.

my Sovereign naturally developed a situationship with fuckass Gwendan. He rejected them, then they desperately made a deal with the devil anyway to prevent his death when he got murdered, which resulted in Angelica dying in his stead and guilt haunting them forever. It was Ursula, whom they were also extremely close to, and whom they banished immediately. 10/10
