The huge figure of Iago looms over his future husband like his impending doom.

The fear of god is given to Karkat in swift force. But as soon as Iago speaks, his shoulders relax and then he gives a tired pout of his own.

“DO I SMELL JUNKFOOD IN /MY/ HOLY KITCHEN?!”

Slooooowly he slurps up the last of his noodle, before going quiet and then swallowing sheepishly.

It was Kankri’s day off from having to watch the kids at camp, so he had taken to finding a quiet spot under a tree to start reading through his language book. Studying when he could have been just relaxing.

He knew Gwen and Karkat would have no trouble with the kids. They were like two bad cops after all, and they wouldn’t let them get the better of them.

“Hello, Kankri. I hope you’re having a delightful day!”

Ah, things appear to be brighter since the cousins joined the Camp Campbell family. The kids were still rebellious but the burden wasn’t as heavy with two more counselors to help. Even their small interactions such as this, had a way of putting a smile on his face.

“I am having a very good day, yes.” Kankri gave a nod, and even a small proud smile when he realized he hadn’t completely butchered his grammar.

“Can’t say same for Karkat though.” He gave another chuckle, finally freeing the other’s face from his hands, and deciding to set them down in his lap as he looked at him.

“Karkat bought guns for them to play.” Kankri said, only for his eyes to widen when he realized that didn’t sound to good.

Kankri hadn’t expected David of all people to be the one to find him crying first.

Usually if Kankri was missing for more than a few minutes, Karkat would go looking for him.

Then again.... Karkat had his hands busy with the kids, making sure no one drowned during today’s swimming activity.

Kankri gave a little sniffle as he looked at David from his spot in the floor of the counselor's cabin, hair an absolute mess and falling in his eyes, and his phone still in his hand as he let out a shaky breath.
